I don't like pasta, but today i ate a pasta dish i liked. I stupidly said how nice it was, and my wife, a lover of pasta, lit up. So I can now expect to get it 3 or 4 times a week!

Bailed on future S-i-L's stag do in Benidorm! Admitted to myself that there's no way I can do 3 days partying and power drinking, and i'm still too stupid to know my limits!

Roomies roadtrip continues, they stopped last night in Amarillo Tx. They're going to hit Bucee's this morning.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Fixed a legacy (30 year old) app that stopped working on windows 11 clients. I've only been here four days and it was the first time I'd looked at it, took me an hour to work out it was due to a depreciated cypher suite.
They've been using windows 10 laptops for the people to rdp into to use the app since 10 went eol.
I'm fucking amazing me.

Re: What have you done today thread?
The new trailer was a bit too nose-heavy with the big Suzuki on, so needed a jockey wheel.
The local caravan/camping shop were helpful and sourced me a complete one for 49€
I had a go with my drill bits and they did the job no problem
I gave up buying cheap tools years ago.
Gonna make things much easier now

Re: What have you done today thread?
Been taking stuff to the car by wheelchair yesterday and today (three bags, so not loads!) - mostly all the clothes I have here so they can get a machine wash whilst I'm home!! But also stuff that I have here and don't need.
Down side of that is that my brain has spazzed a bit on the going home tomorrow
. I know it's only for a visit (leave here before 9am tomorrow and get back by 6pm Sunday), but it'll be the first time I have no access to a wheelchair since 12 March.
Just hoping some friends can come and meet me when I arrive so they can dig out the little mechanics wheely stool I have in the shed - at least then I can carry a coffee (or a pizza) to the sofa
But, heading out in a mo with a friend from here to go to a supermarket. She hurt her shoulder by having shopping in a rucksack whilst using crutches last week, so I offered to drive her - means I get to practice before leaving tomorrow
Also a bit miffed as the planning for next week suggests that I only have one session on the airbag walking machine - annoying as the chances are that the pool will still be closed and it's only in the pool and the air machine that I get to walk without my arm suffering

But - have organised stuff for tomorrow. Have done a light physio sessions and a better spazzy sports session. Now chilling till Fabienne is ready to go shopping!! (She's got a blue badge, so we get to park really close
)

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent the last 90 mins lying on a carpet at the Outlaws trying to mend their DFS sofa after MiL's hair tongs went pop badly whilst plugged into the same extension lead as the sofa (its powered for the recline, headrest, USB ports etc). Sofa is toast, looks like the two control modules 5V rail have been fried meaning all the controls are dead.
Unfortunately it would appear their dog has been having stealth wee's behind the sofa and muggins found this out after laying down on the carpet behind the sofa to access the modules and cabling. Not saying it was bad but I was so tacky by the end I could've beaten Peter Parker in a race up the outside of a building.
Had to have a shower when I got home

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent most the day with daughter here. Both at work but nice to chat between calls, over coffees and while getting fleeced for lunch
She’s currently at the BBC Radio One Big Weekend event so I’m on Dad taxi duty, goodness knows where I’m going to find to park / how I’m going to find her and her half brother in the inevitable tidal wave of people and cars when it closes its doors tonight.
Just back from a hard 3.5mile run, it’s still hot out there, bugs are flying everywhere and barely any breeze
It looks like I’ll be getting up really early on Sunday for the planned 6 miles, hopefully while it’s cooler.
Now resting with a bag of frozen sweet potato chunks (other veg are available) on my knee as it was jarring a bit towards the end of the run.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had to send a work email, the contents of which are the electronic equivalent of dropping a small spanner in a large rotating machine. Suffice to say it was about someone’s lack of competence and professionalism and ability to do the job.
Am awaiting an interesting call Tuesday when management are back in.

I've been digging the front garden to plant shrubs. I really didn't want to but I started last weekend and didn't want to leave it half finished until autumn. It wasn't pleasent, even under a gazebo with an SDS drill doing the hard work.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Watching the Indy 500, altho there was a interlude when I had to visit the throne room where the phrase "like shit through a goose" would have been fairly descriptive
The first two offerings were pretty normal, but after that all hell broke loose.
