Went to the crematorium to collect the flowers, which are kinda depressing to look at, but the wife wanted them back here.
As a distraction, I decided to take the wife out for the day. So off to North Weald market, which is a local market and very popular. Took an hour to get in the car park!

But then we spent a joyful hour or so perusing market tat! I somehow managed to resist the very cut-price designer wear and fragrances, and we only bought some plants, which my good lady is very pleased with.
Stopped at a pub I used to use many years ago for some lunch and wished I hadn't. I opted, as usual, for fish n chips and got an overcooked, greyish looking fish of no determinable origin, and even the staff didn't know what it was either!

Still, the smattering of chips was welcomed, certainly more so than the little hard green vegetable balls which I assume started life as garden peas. Ho hum.
Funnily enough, it was still a nice day out though. We meandered around the countryside, taking the long way home and avoiding the M11/25. Now we have people popping over to see how my wife is coping and no doubt inadvertently upsetting her again. The irony of well-wishing and concern is not lost on me.

Humans huh!

Fitted a bath, fitted a radiator, hid most of my mistakes with silicone. Just a bog and sink to go.

Technically yesterday but...
Got some nice chaps to remove the screw from my tyre and replace it with a plug. £15 in and out
Booked my Speed Awareness course - I had the option of online or in-person, so I've gone for the in-person option for shits and giggles
Jigged about a bit to Carl Cox, bounced and sweated a lot to The Prodigy
Now lying in bed waiting for the happy endorphins/adrenaline to wear off a bit - post-gig is pretty much the only time I don't go to sleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Went out to Willow this morning & bumped into three ZRX guys from Northern California I hadn't seen in about 20 years. They were looking at the Gpz11 & making appreciative noises as I walked up behind them. Took them a moment to recognize me.
Couldn't stay long at the track as I had other commitments. Pro-photog mate got a great pic of the GPz11

Yesterday had to go IKEA exchange something and coming back went through the Silvertown tunnel for the first time …popped out the other side and was completely lost for a few minutes.

The bonus of Sundays here is the croissant we get with breakfast (and of course the patisserie we get with lunch!)
Typical bowl of coffee with breakfast - but damn its not particularly nice here!! SOOOOOOOOOO strong and bitter, having to up the sugar which is a shame, but at least it makes it drinkable!!
When a friend from work visited on Monday, he brought me some cherry jam - which was a bit of a laugh really as I made some bakewell tarts early on in the season but made a mistake and bought sour cherry jam for them

I actually really liked that, but it wasn't what I'd planned, but I couldn't find cherry jam in the shops at all

. So when Hippolyte saw blackcherry jam, he bought some for me
I could keep it for the bakewell tarts but it will be a LONG time before I'm home to make them, so I decided to use it on my croissant - soooo unFrench, but I like it, and the coffee is not nice enough to dunk the croissant, so jam it is!!

I’m heading to the Lake District to spend a week building one of these:

At Fyne Boats near Kendal.
I decided I’d rather ‘do a thing’ than sit by a pool, wander around a city, etc.

Nice! Great minds...
In a similar but different way I have next week off and am doing a week-long timber framing course

Epic! That looks fabulous. I foresee a timber built workshop for the hapless one at some point on your horizon.
