I made a list (not for him!) when I got here, well the weekend after I got here, of things I needed to do - I am struggling with anything remotely like paperwork (even if it's actually on the computer!) but -

Today I have ticked off two things from my list :bblonde:

And a couple more things remotely
- a friend took my car to the work depot as I feel happier that it's somewhere people see it than just parked outside an empty house for about 6 more weeks! TBF, she's the girl I went to ski with, so it's been parked outside her house since then!!!
- same friend grabbed a bag with some stuff I need to post and also went to my house to put my skis there (instead of leaving them in the car!) and picked up some more stuff for me cos she's visiting next week :)

Have nearly finished a cross stitch I have taken too long to do (it's on plastic canvas and that's horrid to work with!) and sent an email to the social worker with some things I'd like printed

Even spoke to my nephew (tried to speak to my brother and my dad but no reply )

Add in a decent physio session (an hour :o ) and I feel almost productive today! Still fcking fed up but I'm trying to do stuff - just not go and talk to people just yet!!
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Faced the insanity of solicitors, mortgage brokers, surveyors, estate agents, etc etc...

Happily, it's pretty much out of our hands now and in all of theirs.

Day two of a conference at the Eden Centre, which has involved plenty of time to have a good mooch about, which has been lush! 🌱
I've never been before, and it was on my endless list of 'things that I want to do at some point', so I've been making the most of it 😎

The conference came with a free pass to the Lost Gardens of Heligan too, so I popped over there mid-afternoon and had an enjoyable couple of hours mooching about there too.

Now I'm waiting for a steak to arrive in Plymouth.

Not a bad couple of days work 😊

My school did their Easter "Rolled the stone away" Service this morning. Really lovely. Followed by a Eucharist. Then quickly disassemble the stage, put it back into the corner of the church, sort lunch and attend a meeting 30 miles away. Decided to take the bike as weather was lovely. Meeting was hard work with people who were pushing their agendas instead of doing what we were there to do. Back home, grateful to be on the bike as M25 was a mess with traffic pile up. Got home on time even though reserve light came on and went to fetch wife and then head out to a Home Communion for a family I'm taking a funeral for tomorrow. Very quiet, but also full of faith and thanksgiving. Cooked dinner (well, reheated last nights stew I cooked) and then did some urgent emails and put together the video file of images to be played on the TV at the wake in the Church hall. Took the bins out for tomorrows collection, ate some sweets and now thinking about going to bed. Oh yes, I walked the dog so she could do a poop... all in the say of a Vicar. I'm pretty sure I've left some stuff out!!

I made a map of our island for her birthday recently.
She decided it was so good she wanted to make a coffee table out of it instead.

And she didn't like the mahogany stain i used.
So sanded it right back to bare wood. She varnished it.

Today I cleaned up one of the support beams from the old pergola. There were 2 thick coats of paint :(
Then round to a pals to use his chop saw to get perfect cuts.

Spent ages with my trusty Makita 18v rotary sander making it all perfect.
It was actually better than the cheap belt sander I bought ages ago.

That would have been really nice as an inlay on an epoxy pour table. Especially if they did a blue sea with surf surrounding the shoreline!

*edit* this type of thing.

Spent the last 3 hours 15 minutes staring at magenta computer screens as our suppliers firewall update , firewalled us out of our substations……. If I’d needed to turn off the power in an emergency all of South Londons trains would’ve ground to a halt…..

Fortunately we’re back in control after they rolled back an update but it’s going to take a while for my BP to settle.

Not a bloody clue, they're a little under 20lb & the male is slightly smaller than his sister. They're solid little things.

Today I skipped a ride in the hills above Benidorm with my Spanish mate in favour of a walk. Good choice from me, he was sending me pics of the snow.

Ordered 90% of the stuff I need to do the bathroom, talked her in doors out of a whirlpool bath with a link to a mumsnet thread.

I'm panelling the whole thing, no tiles at all, YAY!

Afternoon tea courtesy of a Christmas present from my eldest.

Nice but not worth what she paid for it (but is afternoon tea ever)

Bought a car. That’s not like me.

Audi A4 Avant TDI, ‘10, 112k miles, lovely condition. To replace my son’s 335k mile Mk4 Golf if/when it eventually dies. It shows no sign of that yet, and it suits them as it’s scruffy and they don’t care.

I’ve decided they’re not getting the Audi - it’s too good for them. £2.5k.

Fingers crossed….

After coming to the conclusion that two people half-assing a job didn't make it any safer, but at least there would be someone to call the Fire Dept & an ambulance we decided to head over to the airport & see if we could blag a 8ft jack for a few hours...
