I cooked at an oven temp of 120°C, first hour or so uncovered in smoke to an internal temp of 74°C, then two and a half slathered in BBC sauce and with orange juice, wrapped in parchment and tin foil to an internal temp of around 98°C. The 650g tip end ended up being pretty tender and really tasty which means I’ll be happy doing the same with the 1.5kg whole tender I’ve now got in the freezer.

I’ll reserve judgement on whether it is worth the £12.50 per kilo I paid for the two pieces I got until I’ve eaten more of it.

In other news, been out for a lovely lunch with my daughters to my local Italian restaurant

A nice day out and about in the good weather. Dog walk up the woods, then off round the market and into couple of shops etc. Really felt like spring had sprung! Possible snow tomorrow!

Met a bloke in a pub who worked for MI6 and was training his dog for work. Apparently the dog had already calmed a situation that morning when the MI6 officer had to rescue a woman from under a train.

Impressive stuff.

Despite the biblical rain, we went for a run out, to a garden centre, where we had brunch! Proper old gifferdom!

Well, MI5 may have been worried about domestic threats. I am sure the Russians aren’t trying to fuck up the rail network, as Network Rail can do that all by themselves !

Three months of slacking off FTW

Survived being tugged by the Polizei. They were more customs I think, their sign said 'Zoll'. No bother as I was completely legit, passport, driving licence, residence permit all to hand, and a virtually empty van for them to inspect.

They didn't even comment about my excess speed on the autobahn.

It's only 7 miles from home, rather than the current 25 miles.

If I charge over night on my 7p tariff the commute will cost me around £6.54 a month.
