Looks like Lakeland cleared their stock at half price. They had been ~ £29 apparently.

Non-Kilner branded ones are from about £22.

An advert popped up for Shein and I went oooh!

So had a look and bought it. Won't buy anything else so had a browse.
I'm now 110€ lighter

Went to the school to take the weekly Eucharist service. Found out that one of student's mum passed away (Diabetic coma/sepsis induced). Off to a meeting in Royal Tonbridge, then back to sort lunch for my girl. Cooking a nice chicken potjiekos for dinner. Nice surprise for my son. Waiting for a parishioner to come around for a meeting. Waiting for my electrician to pop over for a quick chat. Will collect the wife a bit later on from the train station.

Made brownies in case I go to Lyon tomorrow, made bread so I have some bread to make sarnies for the weekend then went up to resort to meet some friends

2 out of 3 bailed on me so that was a bit of a pain

Got home to find out that I am going to Lyon tomorrow so had an early tea and am about to cut up the brownie ready to take with me

Did what I've been meaning to do these past 2 or 3 years, and start some chili plants from seed. I've got 5 different varieties, three of which are mainly for eating raw or in salads, on pizzas etc and two for some heat. I've planted Trinidad Pimento, Pimento de Padron and Pearl for eating 'as is' and Cherry Bomb and Birdseye chillis for some heat, but only medium - none of the bonkers ones like Grim Reaper or Death Spiral...

I'v gone a bit OTT and planted 6 of each, so if they all germinate then I'll be giving plants away. They're on the front windowsill, which has a radiator underneath it. I've got a heated mat (originally used for winemaking) that can be pressed into service if needs be.

Went to pub to watch footy.

First beers since dry January

Walked about for a bit on a frozen lake. The search and rescue part of my brain was shouting at me to get back onto solid ground.

Two well attended services this morning, Candlemass. Sung the Nunc Dimittis. Then home to sort lunch and do the shopping. Walk the dog quickly.

Cooked another batch of Flapjacks, 1.3a version is much better (hint, more golden syrup required). Then cooked up a Durban Chicken Curry with bulgar wheat. Went down a treat with a glass of good red wine.

Time to relax now and enjoy the evening. Might end it with a nice single malt if time permits and the wife is not too tired.

Was saddened to hear that a good friend of mine, whom I've known through years of playing in table tennis leagues, passed away this afternoon. Mid fifties, leaves a wife and two sons. RIP Chris.

Sorry to hear that mate, mid-fifties is no age at all

Today I went to bed at 1.30am, having waited up for the new cat, to no avail. (T'other half's dad got floored with sciatica this week, so we'd headed up there to help him for a few days, and had had to leave the cat a bunch of dry food out and hope for the best ).

At 5am she appeared, came and snuggled up on the bed until my alarm went off.

This morning she joined me on her first Teams client call

She spent most of the morning on my lap, so I think she'd forgiven me for abandoning her.

At lunch time I abandoned her again to fly to Dublin for a couple of nights for work (t'other half is staying up with his dad for another week).

CCTV surveillance shows she didn't leave the house till 5pm though, so hopefully she'll not even notice I'm not there for a couple of days

I've been out and eaten dinner in the city, and now I'm in bed in my hotel room, about to make up for last night's 4-5 hours kip

(Vaccinations, microchip, etc are booked for next week, so she can go to a cattery when we go away in the future.)

A pal's been going up his Land Rover for a few months so took me for a gentle ride

Suspension rock hard and he was crawling over tough stuff where I'd just keep going.

Was a nice day out anyway and admired how green the island is

Another 1.30am. This time I've been on the lash in Dublin

Today is supposed to be the end of my week !! Given we "can" work 45 hours a week and I do around that in 5 days, I'm always knackered by now!! But today I have an early finish so -

Was looking forward to a lie in before a ski lesson tomorrow afternoon - but work just called and asked if I can do a school run in the morning (too many drivers off sick ) so, I'm guessing I'll be up at 5ish again

At least I'll be finished by 9:30 so can come home and sort my stuff for the lesson

Today I've got up after 3 days of festering in bed with man flu, hopefully I'll be back to work tomorrow or Friday
