I’m sure there is a recall for the water/oil pump built between certain dates, mine is outwith these dates but I had a look anyway. You start to see oil at the weep hole if it is leaking. I’m guessing his is the 2019-2022 model and not the 2023 bike that’s just came out. They still refer to the 2023 bike a the K67.

Roads are too busy, it’s still dark in the morning and cold so can’t have fun on the way there which is usually when I can as it’s quiet, but coming home is a pain in the fart box.

The bike is a brand new 2023 model,so maybe just fat fingers on the assembly line.

Recall probably covers the 2023 bike as well but I struggle at times to find the information, there’s so much conflicting information especially with regards to build dates that are affected. I keep seeing something and thinking ffs but so far it always turns out mine is either built before or after bikes that are affected by the recall.

I've just been out for a spin on the Street Triple,I was reading online that you can lose up to 20mm of seat height by slackening off all the linkage & shock bolts, then retightening them with the weight of the bike loading the suspension.Fron what I've read Triumph build the bikes up with the bike suspended.I should have been a bit more scientific, but I reckon the seat height's dropped by approx 8mm.

Nice evening for a gentle spin

Nice photo top!

That's a bit alarming about the seat height dropping. Surely all the bolts should be snug fits in the links?

It came as a surprise to me.Not being an engineer all I can think is that with the bike being suspended all the weight pulls the various components to their maximum tolerance in one direction, resulting in a maximum seat height & by slackening the bolts & compressing the suspension before tightening the bolts up again you reach their maximum tolerance in the opposite direction resulting in a lower seat height. The bike definitely feels like it's sitting a few mm lower.According to my tape it's sitting 6-8 mm lower, but that's just me measuring it.Ideally you would hold it in some kind of jig & measure with a ruler or laser.I've already taken all the preload out of the rear shock.

Here's what it said in the link I found
Common modifications: lowering your Triumph Street Triple 675
Lowering kits are popular but according to specialist Clive Wood, they’re not the way to go: "I see a lot of bikes and people have bought a kit from eBay, lowered it 40mm and ruined the handling. You don’t need to change the dog bones, it’s easy to lower the bike enough for most people. With the wheels on the floor, loosen all the bolts in the rear suspension linkages. There’ll be a ‘clunk’ as all the joints settle. Then take a couple of rings of preload off the rear spring. That’ll lower the rear by about 25mm. Now move the forks up through the yokes by about 15mm to restore the balance." And it’s free!
Mine never made a 'Clunk'.

To work this morning. Not gonna lie - it was cold, especially as I refuse to wear winter gear in late April. I'm only riding in as I received a car parking ban for late cancelling my car parking space - that's the price of freedom here. So if I want to go into the office for the next month, I will have to take my bike. I hope it warms up a little.

Check out the cheap pannier bags I bought to hide the ugly pannier rails - one of them fell onto the exhaust and practically disintegrated so down to one already which is secured with a cable tie.

I went over this bridge. I've been meaning to go over it for quite some time. The road up to it was actually pretty good.

If its a decent size pillion seat, you'll get a decent size tail bag strapped to it. 👍

Not a great picture, I have adapted my SW Motech panniers and I have a 20L Kreiga tail pack on there with my rucksack slung on top and helmet in the way. If I ever needed more (for maybe camping) I have a 40L Lomo dry bag which would replace the tail pack. I think once you get that far, you can just keep adding if you have the right straps and bungies
