Re: What have you done today thread?
Well, I didn't get wood today
with luck, Tuesday or Weds **crossing fingers**
So instead I made a BIG leek n potato soup (with added cauliflower to use it up, turns out I don't really like cauli!)
Blanched some cabbage for the freezer
Baked a lemon drizzle cake for a friend whose birthday was yesterday but I won't see her till tomorrow!!
Have been burning loads of off cuts of decking and other weird stuff this evening so I can be cosy warm for SCD
Probably get a fairly early night cos the resort is open tomorrow and whilst I won't ski (forecast is rubbish, don't want my first ski of the season to be flat light
) I do want to go up and see the new version of my friends cafebar, and hopefully see some other friends
Oh, also saw the landlord this afternoon so I now know how to turn on the tiny rad in the loo cos DAMN it's cold in there first thing in the morning!! Just need to find my pliers/grips and I'll sort it, probably tomorrow !!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Did many things for many people today and never got my brake pads fitted. Then we went to see my F-i-L in hospital and wish I hadn't. Hes a strong old bastard and I think he'll pull through, but by God its hard to see him like he is!
Based on that, I've sacked off all tomorrow's planned chores and am going to meet my sister and her other half, who is a real good mate too, and go to a Xmas market thing at Leigh-on-Sea. I'm getting a train or a cab so I can have a drink too. Also bought a couple of sanisburys wagyu (
) steaks and am about to scoff them whilst watching the Tinsel Town movie.

Ridden to work in the pissing rain as it was “Bus Wanka” rail replacement morning and I didn’t want to get the ZH2 dirty.

Dare we ask Yorick, are you aiming to be pallet king of the island;)
Today it was wet, so cooking/baking while OH at work, shortbread successful, ginger cookie thing tastes OK IF you have a cuppa tea with them and soak them for at least 30 minutes
Dhansak on the go for later:)

Re: What have you done today thread?
Last week brought a few potential changes in work stuff
Which means I need a plan B for earning a living
So today I started building an internet presence for
ProPedalBikeRepairs which will be a venture in the next couple of years for me to do some work on pedal bikes
I’m not sure yet if or how it will actually work but I’ll be giving it a go

As you may recall, my son has his own, successful, bicycle build, maintain and repair business. Feel free to throw questions my way and I'll endeavour to assist.weeksy wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 5:25 pm Last week brought a few potential changes in work stuff

That kind of change is rarely fun when it takes you unawares. Wishing you all the best both in general and for the bike repair stuffweeksy wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 5:25 pm Last week brought a few potential changes in work stuff

Re: What have you done today thread?
Gremlinette came back from a lunch date. Out of the blue asked me if I wanted to ho to the pub. Jumped at the opportunity.
Four hours later and we're still in there chatting dad/daughter rubbish.
When did this happen? How can I back sure it continues?
Sp happy right now, even though I have to get up.in the morning.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Have to do some work on the ZX11, but outside. Checked the weather guessers, forecast is 82deg today. Perfick.
Update:
Fixed the bloody fuel leak from all that ridiculous plumbing under the tank. Feeling confident about riding it & not getting any unintended excitement..

Baby sat CR Smith for a 2nd day and strangely wanted Liverpool to win. Only as Inter were a bunch of whining bastards. Yes worse than Liverpool and roll on Saturday when normal service shall be resumed.
