As I walk a bit wobbly due to my fooked knee, it was pointed out I'm spilling my tea on the way back from the staff kitchen! So I thought I need a flask cup, but not one of those plastic ones as they taint the taste. Once again TechKIngs come through with a 50% off offer on Amazon! Gotta love tech kings!

The lid is deep enough that there will always half a mouthful of cold tea sitting there.

I won't be drinking through the lid! The lid will come off when I get back to my studio from the kitchen It'll only go back on if I get called away, which often happens when I've just got a cuppa! This is full of win for me!MrLongbeard wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 1:24 pmThat'll be shit.Taipan wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 1:14 pm As I walk a bit wobbly due to my fooked knee, it was pointed out I'm spilling my tea on the way back from the staff kitchen! Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
When my KTM dumped it's oil, an awful lot of it ended up on my draggin' trousers
Yesterday I smothered the effected area in washing up liquid then slung them in the machine...
I never expected them to come up that well.
I'm sure someone will have something to say about the 'camo' print, but I ride a noisy orange KTM, being subtle is on my radar

Today has been a day of win. The campervan was paid for and collected, I sorted my Spanish water bill (from Ireland) and lots of progress with the old man. He's had a knee replacement, in conjunction with the doctor we've changed the dose of pain killers he's on so he's now bright and alert in the day, not somewhere between asleep and half asleep, manageing to do all his exercises and walk as he's supposed to.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Yup. Just to make it really hard for themselves, that both drove from the Lakes to the van (nearest place is Lower Benefield, about 40 minutes from Peterborough), he stayed with the van whist she drove back to Peterborough to the branch of the bank they were going to use, did the transfer, drove the 40 minutes back to the van so that they could drive back to the Lakes in convoy. Any normal person would have automated the money transfer. I've got the cash and they've got the van, so it's all good.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I went for a little walk, sit in the sun and a little read outside today - yup, a walk, and not a wheel!!
But also, a friend asked for readers for a book she's written and DAMN that was good. Ok, it's a kids book, but sometimes I prefer those - not the really little kids ones, honest! This was probably 10 - teens age bracket. But it was bloody good fun!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Just tried to pay the DART online for my upcoming trip to Fronch, put the reg in and got a pop up saying bikes are free!
On a semi related note, I knew a bloke lived in Green Hythe used to Sellotape 20p's to his tank for when he used the crossing.

This thing:
The cat, not the cardboard cow. Though the latter does also make me happy. The cat's living here for six weeks until the owners move into a house where they are allowed a cat. It's a Bengal, very decorative and quite noisy. It's pleasant having it here but I'll be glad when it and it's impedimenta have gone.

I threw some darts at a board!! It wasn't in anger or anything, but part of OT!!
I wouldn't have won any games!! I was standing too close for one thing!! But, if anyone needs 19, it looks like I can hit that number just fine!!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Tyre prices here
Just got 2 lovely Michelin enduro tyres for €145, fitted. Less than half price of UK
I don't mind spinning the rear up for shits and giggles when they're so cheap

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Just having a couple in town with pals. The lucky lucky men politely plying their trade.
A young Jamaican couple appeared and the LL man made a beeline for them.
Lots of giggles and gestures. Chatted for ages despite the language problems.
Not sure what I'm trying to say, but there was a bond IYSWIM.
I'll stop digging

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
New tyres are always good IMO so good on ya, but it's not half the price of the UK- admittedly I fitted them myself, but I paid £62 rear/ £48 front for my last pair on the trusty EXC approx 3 months ago

The cow was bought many years ago in Paris, the maker had a huge range of cardboard animals in various sizes.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I was chatting/texting to a mate last week during the serious wobble about my shoulder. In one bit of the conversation I said I couldn't find the wool I wanted online and missed Cadburys chocolate. Friday he told me he'd sent me a parcel
With the general post being a bit rubbish to the mountain, I wasn't holding out hope of anything arriving fast, but this morning I got the parcel! Enough baby wool to keep me occupied well past rehab! He also got a pattern for a baby jacket hat and bootees, and the needles required (no wonder he said his first ever visit to a wool shop was 'interesting'!). Also two decent bars of Cadbury's and a 'self help/positive thinking/change your life' type book!!!
I promised I'd start the book this weekend, and one of the chocolates I've never tried!! LOL
But, damn, I've had the biggest grin on my face all day (so far!) - I do know some awesome people
