The heated grips are good, loads more use than the quick shifter
Wore my new leather jacket and new Dainese baseball boots, both are good

If it's anything like the GSXS, it's probably a long way off breaking traction on it's lowest settingPotter wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 1:07 pmSo does that mean the wheel is breaking traction a lot on the faster modes? Do you feel it?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 3:49 pm
I tried rain mode yesterday, the traction control light comes on a lot in rain mode and it doesn't wheelie, but it was very smooth, easy to ride and still very fast.

I think it's going to need a new battery, went to start it earlier and it tried but flattened the battery, charged the battery, it then started, but I had to stop it to put the seat back on, then it wouldn't start again, so the battery is back on charge, we'll see, but it's not exactly the end of the world.

It started fine today, it's feckin quick even in rain mode, managed to get it down to an average of 23mpg today.

No, silly speeds on a bike with bad aerodynamics (and I'm not exactly aerodynamic either)Yorick wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 10:54 pmMega wheel spinning?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 10:08 pm It started fine today, it's feckin quick even in rain mode, managed to get it down to an average of 23mpg today.

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
MOT time on Thursday so the standard exhaust is back on, annoyingly the bike is more fun with the standard exhaust and the quick shifter works better, no idea why the quick shifter works better with the stock exhaust, but it definitely does. It's also louder with the standard pipe

That's a strange one. All I can think off is the fuelling is off just enough with the aftermarket can to spoil a smooth transition.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 12:46 pm no idea why the quick shifter works better with the stock exhaust, but it definitely does.

Or maybe changing at different revs/load due to the change in engine noise?Skub wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 1:18 pmThat's a strange one. Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
On the exhaust front, when my ebay OE can turned up I was surprised how little was inside it and how light it was. Other than the fact the exit pipe is slightly offset to the inlet and a little bit of mesh baffling off to the side, it's pretty much straight through. I reckon if I bought an aftermarket exhaust it'd be no louder as presumably like the 690 the silencing happens in the cat

It's also smoother with the Black Widow can, but the Honda one is more fun so it's probably going to stay on, I've also got a £50 fake Project SC can that is really LOUD, it's louder with that on than with no can at all.

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
It passed MOT with no advisories, now has a new back tyre and is ready to rock for another year, though it will be due an oil change in 800 miles, which will probably be next week.

You need to do an MOT in the second year over there?

Ah. I had imagined it was new when you bought it. Certainly looked new.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 5:14 pmIt's 4 years old, I bought it when it was 3 years old

Right now it needs a good clean after I got diverted down a muddy little road because the main road was being resurfaced.

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
The new back tyre is good, the bike is stable at over 140mph, I had a little race with a noisy Porsche today, he bottled it at 141.
So today I think I've been the fastest at I've ever been on an unfaired bike, 145ish, the bike would happily have gone faster.

Re: NBT: I've bought a Honda!
In the 16 days since it was MOT'd I've done 800 miles on it, I haven't really been anywhere much on it, just lots of 1 hour rides.
