Technically bikes have to be Euro 4 compliant, but TfL use a registration date to check. If your bike is earlier than that date you need to get a statement of compliance from the manufacturer. My VFR fell foul of that.

This thread was just my little story of biking through some of Europes finest solo. Adapting accommodation to my preference as I went. I took 23 days, but could be done in less, all depends.

It was pretty much the route I intended, apart from some of the mountain passes, I was too early, but that didn't spoil the trip one bit in the end.

Talking to folk on route some say, steer clear of Stelvio, Grossglockner amongst others, far, far too busy, so maybe nothing lost.

Best bits...

Black forest L93, fantastic road, no vehicle's, hairpins and forest.

Croatian coast road south of Senj, smooth and twisty.

SP 8/3 east of Lake Garda North from the church Madonna.

Some of the SS1 north of Pisa.

Verdon gorge and the Jura mountains.

Bad bits...

Closed mountain passes, maybe.

Getting lost in Lille, no data, short of fuel.

East London and M6.

Other than the roads, sitting having a beer in Zadar old town, fa.... , people watching. Same in Senj. was ace.

Zerba avventura bnb, NE of Genoa. In the hills, but nothing too much trouble. Ample food and beer.

Hotel de la place...Mezel, France, again, a superb stay.

Le Cheval Blanc hotel in Jargeau...great accommodation and location.

Really enjoyed Bastoyne early on and the E company memorial. Needed more time in Normandy.

Cracking 3 weeks had, can be done by anyone with the inclination. Bike time solo, absolutely fine stop, go whenever you want. Evenings can be a bit BNMs but usually have a natter with someone, somewhere.

Would i go solo again? Yes, definitely, but I'd leave the tent in the cubby hole under the stairs. 😁👍

Forgot about this, done with cheapo cam...nothing else was watchable. You'll hear that in bed tonight. 🤣
