Yes diesel, manual. There's a lot of reports on the auto engines/clutches being garbage.

Clutch pedal heavy on the manual. My 59 mondeo was heavy, but my last 65 was light. The Nissan is heavy though for sure.
Just in Wales, sitting at 69 on cruise I averaged 59mpg. Comfy and happy

Don't worry too much. Ours get a lot of grief off road without problems. Sometimes a whiff of clutch, but soon goes.

EDIT:

Shit, that's £275 in tax!

That's more than my 3.5l petrol!
How do you know what it costs to tax it? It can make a big difference on cars and I don't know anywhere you can look them up.
One way is to drop the reg into here https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ on the results you'll get a CO2 emission level i.e. 134 g/km highlight that and right click/search google and the first hit you get will be the tax tables from the Gov, scroll down to your one.
I was casually browsing this little beauty:

£600 a year to tax though! :o

I was just guessing as that was the original point of the thread. Are you pleased with the motor though?

Errrm sorta. But i'm not a car person as you've gathered.

I'll do a pros and cons.

pros.
Driving position/seating height.
Ground clearance.
Engine economy/performance (59mpg on the 340 miles up to now) and pulls way better than mondeo in mid range
Seat comfort, on the Mondeo the stitching often dug into my right leg on the outside, this isn't a factor. PLus seats are really comfy.

cons
Lack of DAB
boot space a little small.
plasticy feel in cabin being a bit cheap.
agricultural in terms of rattles and fittings.

It's weird having a manual handbrake and a key again, i keep forgetting to take the handbrake off.

Overall, it's perfect for the job i've bought it for and goes it well enough. I'm happy enough with it, but it's just a tool for a job.

£340 as reg before March 2006.
If it was before March 2001 it'd be £280

It's still an old Vauxhall - Omegas spent most of the time in the garage when they were new ...

I had one of those as a company car, hated it. It had an oil leak from day one that Vauxhall couldn’t sort, it eventually caught fire, I took slightlylonger than I really should’ve to call the emergency services

I had one as a CC years back too, would regularly blow the turbo boost hose off and go in to limp mode. POS.
After just 6 months, 25000 miles it looked like a shed.....

I've had a couple of Omegas, a 2.0 and a 3.2, both of them drank petrol, the 2.0 averaged 23mpg if you drove it gently, the 3.2 was always sub 20mpg, easily into single figures if you used the 200 odd bhp, they're at best okay to drive, usually leak oil from the plastic cam covers and have front suspension knocks.

Towbar now fitted, but I've not sat in the car for a few days. Midweek I don't really drive.

Well that went the way of the pear !!!

Got up this morning in the sleet/snow, we were heading to 417 Flyup in Gloucestershire...

Image2021-11-27_09-15-18 by Steve Weeks, on Flickr

Greeted by an Engine Management light when starting the car ! eeeek.

Spent the next 45 mins looking for my OBDII Diagnostic tool, which for the life of me i still can't find so had to borrow one from a mate.

Image2021-11-27_09-15-13 by Steve Weeks, on Flickr

Google tells me the EGR valve is stuck/seized/whatever. Not a massive issue, can be replaced...

Spoke to the dealer who i bought it from and sorted out the warranty side of things.. "anything on top that needs paying, just ring me and i'll sort it"... Can't say fairer than that... So it's booked in with Nissan on Tuesday morning to be diagnosed and hopefully sorted.

Bunch of arse...

It was kinda happy though.... as if it'd worked, we'd have got to 417 just as they were closing it due to high winds and snow LOL.

I was getting EML on my van every other day but high pressure. Bought a new MAP sensor and cleaned the MAF with break and clutch cleaner and its been great since.

He sprayed the wire in the air inlet duct and replaced the little sensor that sits in the inlet manifold.
