Driven back from Skye 5 days early as the weather turns vile up there with weather warnings for 3 days and the dog walking is rubbish.
Left Uig (pronounced OOig) at 1800 Sunday and arrived home at 0630! This included some spirited driving across the Highland roads (well I put the Tuscon with a huge top box and a bicycle rack on the back in Sport mode which translates to the knitting machine under the bonnet thrashes itself more noisily) and a shitty long diversion north of Glasgow onto the worlds twistiest, bumpiest A road and meant we arrived at a Glasgow services nearly on fumes.
Managed to beat the M25 rush hour by about 45 mins and got home threw everything out of the car before crashing out for 3 hours.
Nice and sunny here on the sunshine "sarf" coast so mowed the lawn and now chilling out.
Road Town hybrid mode = 74mpg and road trip with no charging = 36mpg

Got a fine from the Polizia Locale Comune di Moscufo for doing 56kph in a 50. They inform that a 5kph margin is allowed.
So I was over by 1kph.
Move over Ronnie Biggs, there's a new international fugitive in town.

Made a bird feed table thing. The shit-ness of my DIY is legendary but there's a new kitty in the neighborhood and he keeps eating the mealworms.
Of course the birds won't touch the new table, even the tame magpies

even when I put bacon rinds on it
I gave up and put the bacon in the usual place and just kept an eye out for the hungry tabby.

Learnt how to solder silver.
Made three rings, and three and a half pendants.
Toying with buying some Silversmithing equipment, mostly because I've fallen in love with a particular decorative hammer...
That's awesome !!! I would bloody love to have a go at that !!!
I signed up on a proper course that was supposed to run earlier in the year, but not enough other people did, so it got cancelled
Hence Muz found this 1-day course for me as a consolation prize/birthday pressie, bless him

You'll be wanting a Henrob torch set up.

That may be overkill

Slightly nearer is El Rocío in Spain. It's in Doñana national park which is a nice place to visit.

Currently anchored in 4m of water off the coast of Meganisi. A cold beer and some cheesy puffs in hand.

Today I had a lesson (sort of) with the company instructor. I've asked to drive the bigger vehicles for two weeks (at least) cos I do this maybe once or twice a week and I haven't got to the point that I'm comfortable in the 12m and 13m buses - which I need to be for the winter.
So today I went out in the 12m bus with the instructor to do one of the more stupid routes we do !! Ok, the route is wiggly and narrow, but the villages are hysterical !! Very old and very little space between the buildings

I have done the routes in a 10m but damn, that's freaking simple in comparison to the 2m longer bus !!!
For anyone that is remotely bored or interested, this is the route I did;
Aime la Plagne to Valezan
do a demi tour to go back the way I came to go to
Granier
then La Thuile
Tessens
back to the depot !!
I did keep laughing/giggling cos honestly, such a stupid route for a bus, but necessary for getting the school kids to and from school! Bloody hope they let me get a LOT of experience before I have to do it in the Dark AN SNOW !!!!

Collected 14kg of walnuts off the floor, and that's just the windfall ones. Still about the same still in the green on the trees!

Most important thing is they tell you how the timer on the eberspacher works and how to operate the coffee machine on the bus.
Warm bus and nasty coffee......bliss!

Looks like an excelent bike route. A bit less than ideal for a bus
