I went into Bromley to pay the cash in (yep, nigh-on £7k in mixed notes. Cheers. ) that I got for the Triumph yesterday.

Hmm, I thought, parking can be a nightmare. I know, I'll take the bike.

Oh, hang on.

Sunday I had three services, all of which in one way or another tied in with the other. Lots of connections across three different church communities. Home for a good cooked meal prepared by my son. Glass of good Newcastle Brown Ale with it as well.

Heading out to take daughter to horse therapy now. Quiet afternoon after that if I can manage it, wife might want me to "do things of work" on my day of rest.

Unloaded 33 x 4.2m lengths of decking from a lorry to the drive. Then moved them into the garden. I'm not the man I used to be! :D

Not today, but last night. Started assembling a clothes airer the wife bought. Metal poles and plastic fittings. Quite tight tolerances to get the poles to seat home so ended up whacking them in with the palm of my hand. Didn't notice the top section wasn't a blind hole and the pole shit through and into my index finger slicing a 10mm wide hole about 4mm deep in to it. I could see the fat layer so flapped the skin back over stuck a steri strip on and it and bandaged it up.

Not as much blood as I expected and it was late in the evening so I decided not to bother with A&E, took some paracetamol and Tramadol and went to bed. No seepage this morning and the pain isn't too bad so I'm just going to keep an eye on it for the next few days.

Woke up feeling like rubbish, the low level lurgey I've been suffering for the last few weeks has finally manifested itself so running on lemsip. I started packing for holiday then took the dogs for a short walk, got rained on. This afternoon took car to dealership for a new horn module, all fixed now, then when I got home barrowed and stacked the 3 builders bags of logs from the front of the house to the log shed, I've now realised the log shed is getting quite decrepit and will need replacing next year, hopefully the containment will hold until then (nasty bulge is one shed wall). I've managed to do this before the rain arrived (Mrs M is walking the dogs so will not be happy).

Don't do that dirty cash stuff. Leave it to the high street mobs.

Actually wasn't too bad. Barclays in Bromley is now 'open plan', so all machines and only two cashiers sat at desks. She just took the brick of notes, stuffed it in a zipper bag and dropped it through a one-way letter box, gave me a receipt and wished me a nice day. No counting it out.
An hour later I see it credited to the account.

Oh, and I have a touch of man-flu like Ming. Bit of a sore throat, then wake up at 3am unable to breathe, snot everywhere, splitting headache. Should have been back at work today, but fucked it off and went back to bed. Still feel crap now.

Got told I can park the bus near home in between todays jobs, mostly because the middle run is from the school just up from where I live :) :)

Bonus - 20 mins extra at home (ok, about 20 mins less pay too, but worth it at the mo).

I've put up a shelf - my DIY skills are as good as ever - marked the drill points with the aid of a baby magnetic spirit level; it's still crooked

Hey ho - but it did give me the oomf to do a bit of organising in the kitchen cos it's been driving me nuts :( - things aren't where they will be but at least I have some space on the work surface now !!

Then made brunch (can't eat breakfast before work, too early and decided to go for a walk whilst waiting for the kids to have lunch, so, brunch!!) - and stood on the terrace and enjoyed the view :bblonde: :bblonde:

Sorry, don't have the knack for slow turns whilst recording !! And, couldn't think of anything to say

Now on sofa wishing I could actually sleep on it during the day - soooo need a nap/snooze but it doesn't work in the daytime :( :(

Morning worship at the school. Then back to let the electricians in to fit new double gang powersocket into the lobby area of the church hall.

Walked headteacher and deputy around the church and hall so they could do a risk assessment for their Nativity in December.

Meeting with a couple who are wanting to be married in October next year.

Meeting at the new housing development "Harbour Village" in Northfleet, I am a public representative for the community.

Local Governors Board meeting at one of the Church schools in the evening.

Lots of emails in the time being, lots of face to face interactions. Keeping busy.

Using the Triumph as my means of transport today as parking is difficult in the locations I'm going to and apparently it is "cool" if the vicar turns up on a Speed Triple! Makes the school children cheer!

Last night:
3rd place in the trivia at the local brewery/pub. 42 out of 48 questions correct. There were 5 teams (from 22) tied for 3rd so the tie breaker was "population of Texas?
In a wonderful display of geography knowledge I (the only Brit there) was closest with 28M (it's actually 29M), no one else was even close.

They have a trophy for 3d place, usually a stuffed toy animal, last week was a penguin, week before was a platypus.. but one of the categories last night was words used to describe a penis*, so we won a 30in long 10in dia inflatable dick.

* The first 7 answers have something in common, the final question is what they have in common.
Q1: Two US Presidents with the same last name? Johnson
Q2: Vietnamese currency? Dong
Q3: Oldest US sporting goods store? Dicks
I forget the other 4.

Vets won't issue prescription flea treatment (cos over the counter Frontline does fuck all). Without seeing/weighing a cat every 12 months.

We've got five, who all need treatment. So the two we thought would be the most calm, Eddie and Dave got put in carriers and driven a mile to the vets.

Eddie shit himself, Dave managed it hide under the towel in the bottom of the carrier. Both very vocal, neither very chuffed.

Eddie 6.6kg
Dave 6.7kg

Fat bastards.

Went to the regular Friday night car show/cruise in. There's this one fat fuck (easily 450lb) who shows up most weeks in his regular daily driver shitbox with his Border Collie pup... and we ALL know how much exercise one of those things need.
The dog is somewhat neurotic & will happily take a treat from one hand & then immediately attack your other hand. A few of us have been trying to get the dog to calm the fuck down, but it's been getting worse every week instead of better.
Last night it happily took two treats from my right hand & then tried to tear my left hand off. I was ready & it didn't make contact, but we're talking full on vicious attack here, not just snapping at me. I finally had enough & told the owner he was lucky I didn't kick the fucking thing in the throat.
Then he tells us that he "plays a game" with the dog at home where he sneaks up on it & deliberately freaks it out. So while a few of us have been trying to get it to calm down, that stupid fat fuck has been reinforcing the neurotic behavior by basically abusing the dog.

I’d have stitched that. NHS would have done it cheaper, but they’d still have stitched it….(IMO). It’s your hand, and hands are…ummm… handy things.
