Did a few things from the 'list' !!!

Sorted the stuff I brought down from resort yesterday and now have space (hopefully) for all the rest that me and a mate are collecting tomorrow !!

Then had to pop out to buy some gin cos I forgot that yesterday !! LOL.

Only took five mins to get to the shops, probably four but I wasn't really timing it as such. How cool is that - don't have to make a plan anymore, I can get to the shop in about 5 ins instead of 40 !!!! :bblonde: :bblonde:

Didn't buy enough gin sadly, so I have a bottle of Sloe gin with white sugar, two with brown sugar, one with half and half; then, a bottle of sloe rum n gin and a bottle of sloe port !!!

Also got a few small jars of Mirabelle Jam too :) :) :). I had forgotten how much effort is required for not that much jam

Also thought a rescue was necessary when a small bird fell out of the sky and landed on the terrace outside my window !!! It landed on it's back and couldn't turn over, so I went out and picked it up gently and put it on a chair, put some water down as well - then, as you do, asked the internet what to do !!

I found a box and a smooth towel to leave out over night so it had some warmth and protection to recover

Went outside to put it in the box with a different dish of water (do birds need deep water to drink from or shallow??) - as I went to move it into the box the little fukker flew off into the bushes

Hopefully I did help a bit by putting it on it's feet, but still, a bit anti climactic - although at least the local cat won't see and 'get' it !!! :bblonde: :bblonde:

Planted three new fruit trees and added guards around them to keep the deer from murdering them (like the ones that were there previously 😭).

Might have stunned itself flying into a window. It usually does for them. :( When the sun is 'just so' on a patio window they sometimes try and fly through them. I put dangly things (I bought some fretwork acrylic mandala things that a local, wheelchair bound bloke makes) but if you're not too worried about aesthetics old cd's will do. Then you make the place look like a Turkish truck cab. :D

Water just needs to be beak deep. You can make it deeper then they'll bathe in it.

My dad has an Omega that he bought for £50 60+ years ago, when he first started work. Still going strong. The next month he went back and bought a metal bracelet for it (it came with a leather strap).

A watch enthusiast told him recently that the bracelet was for a Seamaster, which the watch itself is not, and apparently these days it's worth three times what the watch is worth (which is worth several multiples of what he paid for it back then 😆).

I managed to make some progress on the house despite the worst efforts of my Brian.

Stripped some wallpaper, prepped for skimming, hopefully sold a sofa bed and maybe sourced some kiln dried, rough sawn tulipwood for an upcoming project. I just need to win the auction and find a way of shifting around 250 kilos of 4m long lengths of timber from Teesside. There’s far more than I’ll need initially but I’m hoping it works out as good value.

59 quid with a 2 hour wait and 12 month guarantee was a lot better than I thought.

Although it could end up a lot more expensive as to wait the time away I went to the local BMW dealer. Bad move, now I’m seriously tempted.
This on the High street? Got a customer looking for reasonable iPad repairers.

Sea Dweller is a great piece, I was offered one new a year or so back at 9.5k which was a bargain!

It's a bit weird as it was raining ! And sadly it's the owners' conservatory, so I can't do anything about the windows/reflection thingies. But I do think there there were some up there, maybe it was just the bird having a 'moment' :1

I'm gonna have a look around here when I'mve stopped moving in to see how many cats are around - I've only seen one (who nonchalantly walks past my open patio door without looking in or any care in the world - oh to be a cat !!) so it might be safe to get a bird feeder/bird bath for the garden. That would be kinda cool :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

(I will sort things out and take some photos soon, not taking any photos right now as the place looks, well, like someones just moved in and is not remotely organised !!!   )

Just depends on what reflection they see and/or if they're in a bit of a panic. Just use cotton thread and blu-tack to dangle something if it appears to happen. I got fed up picking up dead blue-tits. :( You sometimes get a dust print of a bird with outstretched wings on the glass...had a pigeon one of those!!

However, that one of yours looked a bit poorly from what I could make out of the eyes, they look a bit 'crusty'.

Yup. Looks like a clear fly-through zone rather than glass. At first glance if you don't expand the pic it looks like a roof on narrow legs!
