Log day here, 2 cubic yards of seasoned hardwood delivered roadside to top up the log store. It’s too bloody warm to be shifting that lot to the other end of the garden and then stacking it all, but it’s done now.
I’m hoping 3 cube will be enough for the winter, but who knows…
The first time I saw two yards dumped on my drive I decided the log burner was for special occasions only.

Loud feminine scream from the pool
I poke my head out to have a look.
There's a snake in the pool!
Ok, it's about 6-8" long, but, definitely a snake.
Guess we'll be moving soon then!
Anyone want a nice, isolated, converted French barn

Hmmm...with the 'snake infestation discount' I might take it off your hands.

I've got a four foot Royal Python you can borrow to scare off the smaller snake.

We had similar.
She: "There's a snake in the house!"
Me: "Where?"
She: "Over there!"
Me: "Looks like a worm". <Fetches glasses>. "Oh yeah it's a snake".
I've seen decent size ones in the countryside but they seem to leave our house and garden well enough alone, and we don't have a pol for them to fall in.

We had a snake in the house a while ago, only a little one. We think it arrived in the trouser turn-ups of a gardener/landscaper that we'd got round to quote for some work! (Baby adder I think). Saw another outside the kitchen door recently. Best thing though is we have 'slowies'

They are absolutely
(Chlorine in a pool is

for snakes but some do seem to like ponds and kids paddling pools

).

'So if you could just pop the plant pot onto the decking'
She said casually.
'so it's not staying in the garden then?' I ask, imploringly.

Snake discount? That runs at about 95% IIRC.
However the wildlife premium is about 100%, so swings and roundabouts Rodney, swings and roundabouts.

Sitting in our slightly leaky conservatory watching nature put on a great light and sound display.
