The problem with them is the layout of the storage volume is crap.Horse wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 9:10 am49L - as I said, huge! It was a present from Manic when he sold his RRT.Rockburner wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 10:49 pm
The oe box for that rack is tiny internally, it'll barely take a single helmet.
The box wraps around the mount, so the internal shape isn't one big "box", but more like 2 small boxes stuck either side of a medium box at funny angles.
A standard E45 Givi will take 2 helmets with ease, the BMW one might have 4 more litres capacity, but it will only take 1 helmet (in the case of my Arai I had to lie it on its side to close the lid) , and you cant just throw an overnight bag into it (or a case of beers).

Daughter and her boyfriend left to have covid tests and then go to his parent's place to stay for a week or two. We'll miss them, so I made us (moi, wife and son) sossie sarnies. They were so nice we're having another. It was either that or go drinking with Ronnie Wood, but thought sossie sarnies were more rock n roll.

Well I do like a polish tomato ketchup, but, no, not today. It was HP Sauce with english mustard on the first one and dijon on the 2nd!Yorick wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 12:15 pmI bet you had red sauce instead of brown ?Taipan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 11:23 am Daughter and her boyfriend left to have covid tests and then go to his parent's place to stay for a week or two. Re: What have you done today thread?
I've found a video that he showed us. He explained that he filmed it all with a hand-held camera while riding, in Gran Canaria. Then edited and produced it. Clever dudeYorick wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 7:02 pm Today, just 2 of us for an enduro ride, but straight away I saw a dude on a big Yam trailie thing, looking a bit lost, so I invited him along. When I met Mark at the petrol station, it turned out this dude was Czech and had ridden the bike over. So we took it easy for a bit and he handled it OK. He didn't have any armour, so we didn't want to be responsible for any damage.
At the first drink stop, it turns out that he's a freelance bike journalist, specialising in long term bike reviews. Also a pro cameraman and film maker.

I was intrigued by these and purchased a pair whilst enjoying some wine. Just found out they've landed in the country, so within the next day or two I'll see if my £3.69 investment was a wise one!

Oo, so basically just glasses but adjustable?
Definitely say if they are any good as I have contacts I can wear for biking and skiing, but they are a pain (especially for skiing) as then I can't read the piste map, my phone or a resto menu

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've done a smidge more organising in the apartment. So much more to do!! Then chilled and read a book till it was time to see the physio
That was a 30 mins of pain I'm not used to. Came home realising that actually I'd forgotten to take any pain meds in the last couple of days!! So am now doped up, and wrapped up with a hot thing over my arm/shoulder!!!
Kinda nice that I managed a few days without, but guess I need to keep a bit of pain meds in me to deal better with whatever is wrong today!! LOL

Re: What have you done today thread?
I do that once in a while & set off on a 200 mile drive. I've discovered that if I'm wearing 14 holer DM's I have fewer issues, some days I can barely drive 5 or 6 miles around town when wearing trainers.Noggin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 4:22 pm I've done a smidge more organising in the apartment. TBH it's so nice that I no longer Need the meds for daily life. But I forget that I do really need them for the rehabilitation! But I'm glad I can cut back a bit overall - been of max levels of paracetamol for far too long!! LOLZRX61 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 7:45 pmI do that once in a while & set off on a 200 mile drive. Re: What have you done today thread?
Just spent longer than I probably should have laughing at this gem:
It was posted in a thread titled "Ever do something so stupid you wonder if you should be left unsupervised?"I started holidays on the 19th, after a long and tough final quarter and I was looking forward to some much needed QST. However between the holidays, last minute shopping, COVID, etc, I haven't had much in the way of ambition.
Today that changed and I finally got up the nerve to go out to the shop and try to get something done. Clearly this was not the day to try because the following incidences occured:
I intended to help Dad install the new airline kit he received for Xmas. However, while swapping out a faulty quick connect on the compressor, I managed to crack the cheap (white metal?) manifold, rendering the compressor effectively more useless than before. I fortunately had a few parts on hand to rig up a temporary set up until I get around to finding a new compressor manifold that will fit.
Not to let that ruin my day, I figured I would continue and try to get the Suburban tractor running, by bypassing the fuel pump in favour of a gravity feed, so that I could tune the carb.
After completing the bypass, I tried the ignition and nothing. No clicks, nothing turned over, zilch. So I started pulling the dash off to get at the wiring. Under the tractor, I unscrewed the bolts holding the dash. Here's where things went south, even further, and for the life of me I can't figure out how I did this:
As I slid out from under the tractor, 9/16" wrench in hand, I somehow managed to simultaneously catch the open end of the wrench on my nostril, and the box end on the tractor frame, causing a minor nose bleed. Do not ask me how the hell I could manage this, but I did.
Climbing out from under the tractor, I put the battery on to charge and it showed 9 volts. I left the charger on and went for lunch. When I came back, the charger was on, you could hear it humming along, but the voltage wasn't showing a reading anymore. Dad and I pulled the charger apart, but couldn't find a culprit and still can't figure out what the issue is.
Now I have a dead battery, dead charger, and a half torn apart tractor. It's time to kick back on the couch with a whiskey and try again tomorrow.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I'm off work officially until the new year, which just means I'll do less work than I normally do.
I binge watched TV last night and had a late morning (for me) so didn't get up until 0730.
I'm on my second coffee now, just had some brie and crackers, and I'm going to nip down to my boat to do some work and hang around the marina chatting shite.
Thrills all day long

To be fair my days are never terrible, I pay for them in stress and monkeys on my back, but from the outside (and usually from the inside) I have it pretty good
