Been back to the emergency vets with my dog (first trip there was last night when his back legs started giving way all of a sudden - he'd been fine on a walk and eating his tea 30 mins earlier).

He came out this morning having had painkillers and fluids overnight, walking normally again, and with no issues showing on initial bloods or an abdominal scan.
Which is annoying cos there was clearly something wrong with him.

Had him home for a couple of hours, and while he still seems bright in himself, he couldn't settle, was doing a lot of pacing, wasn't interested in cheese (unheard of). So called them up and back he went.

Vets keeping him under observation and a different painkiller overnight tonight (in case it today's symptoms were after effects), and then there'll be more referrals etc tomorrow...

Suffice to say the last 24 hours haven't been much fun. But he's being looked after 😊

So I've booked an airbnb in Sweden for my summer trip to distract/cheer myself up. 👍

Today, or now, I have my 17 year old Jack Russell dog, Dolly, cuddled up next to me.
On Saturday night she went to bed at about 11.30pm and did not get up yesterday until 3.30pm! I checked on her every hour or so yesterday when I was busy just to make sure that she was still with us!
She bounced down the stairs earlier, in puppy mode, ate a plate of dog food, had a drink of my tea, wagged her tail, gave me a lick and is now snoring whilst resting her chin on my arm as I try to type.

Sometimes I don't think I realise how precious she is. She may only be a dog, but she is my dog, and I blooming love her!
Jack Russells are sturdy little dogs and even though she is going blind and she is as deaf as a post I hope that she will be with us for a lot longer.

But time does slip away. So enjoy whilst you can.

Up at sparrow-fart to get a brain scan. It's only taken the Dr three fucking years to order it.

We sat in the waiting room at another hospital this afternoon waiting for Mrs Dixiethedog to have a heart echo test. And it went on and on and on and on. :D
One thing I noticed whilst in the hospital was the amount of unfit looking overweight people there along with the patients. My neighbour drives trains and has to undergo physicals and god knows what to keep his job whilst the NHS staff don't have to do anything. Another thing wrong with the system.
Without being political, all I can say is thank goodness we have Labour in charge to sort it all out.     (I would have the UK thought Police knocking at the door if I typed what I really think!!!). We are being watched.

Picked up the dog. They still aren't sure what was up with him, but further test results are pending, and he's back on all four paws for now 😊

Submitted my 2024/2025 tax return, looks like I owe £200 in tax. I’m still waiting for HMRC to refund over £250 from 2023/2024 PAYE due to a tight-fisted, now ex-employer, not paying full HMRC mileage allowance and HMRC needing to see my mileage log.

According to the online timeline, they’ll start working on the information I submitted two months ago in 3 weeks time.

I’m hoping one will net out the other and help offset the new P11d benefits from the new job.

Had a busy day yesterday with admin work and what nots. Had also been looking for our missing cat (he has renal failure and disappeared Saturday afternoon, weak, wobbly and very ill). No signs of him at all. He suddenly appeared in the afternoon and said, "MEOW!", ate food, curled up on the bed and has spent the night sleeping with us. Still wobbly, but stronger than Saturday when we thought it really was his ticket about to be punched. Fed him a bit this morning, not much as he was not really interested. Have some special supplements to try on him later today to boost he calorific intake, liquid form. Will see how that goes. Can contact Vet and say, he is alive! (Strong Easter theme coming through there!).

I am sitting with a cuppa waiting to see if my mate turns up to take me to his mates workshop.

We kind of vaguely arranged it yesterday with him saying, "I might be going over to see... tomorrow morning at about half ten are you coming along?" Me, "I can't say for certain at this moment in time, but I would like to see whats happening" My mate relplied with a "I'll give you a knock in the morning (if I remember  ).

If he does not show up I bought some Wagner (German) Rust Remover (about 3 yrs ago!), to clean the inside of a GSX1100EFE tank. The instructions are in foreign so things should be fun. "Ich wette, dass ich mit dem Rostlöser einen riesigen Mist mache". Or something.

Upon investigation at home, it appears some fuck wit on a day out fiddled with the switches and left my headlamp on! Cue fitting an isolater or at least taking the fuse out

I've packed in work now and joined a swimming club. 50+ group. 😁👍 1 hour sessions from 9 - 10 am every weekday if I want, currently doing Tuesday and Thursday.

Got about 10 new friends and yes, I am the youngest, 58 most in their 70s, but very nice and friendly. Gets me out and home for 10.20 then gardening at the mils for 2/3 hours on same days. That gives me 3 days free for general tatting, pedalling or motorbiking, whatever really. 👍

Been to the office for a few hours, im sure the novelty will wear off shortly… :D I took advantage of being in Newcastle to pop and see daughter for a coffee and drop off Easter eggs for her and her beau.

3 hours of online learning done this afternoon, I’m >< this close to being signed off to see clients, final assessment is Thursday

Just wrapping up work now which means a quick change of clothes then take the hound out for his walk.

Had a talk with my collector insurance company owing to some confusion that appeared to show the premium had increased by damn near $400. There were two mileage & one value change made on the current year which caused their software to sneeze when generating the new premium. The increase over last years premium is actually $4.
Me: $4? I think I can swing that 8-)
Lisa at the Ins Co: I was prepared to front you the $4 if needed

Forgot my phone, which is also my wallet and I don't know if I can make it home on the amount of petrol I have. I hope so, as I don't have a phone to call anyone out if I don't! :hmmm:
