"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

Nearly quit my job but didn't

Saw the physio and my arm has proper spazzed (feels mostly better since he did the stuff to it!!)

Drove back to my mates house to cat sit and had yet another call from my boss while I was driving (my car this time not his!!) - this time a kinda sorta apology but as it's the closest he's ever come to an actual apology, I'll take that (still not gonna work another winter with him!)

Got to my mates place and ran a bath - it's a really deep bath which is freaking awesome. I do really need to get some bubble bath tomorrow if I'm going to go for a soak again while I'm here!!

Fought the Maine Coon for my dinner

Now contemplating a early night and if the moglets wake me up early I'll have an early morning chat with himself - more to try and persuade him to visit here on Weds evening !! (the only time his work hours this week make it kinda possible :( :( :( )

Did quite a bit more mileage in the F350 than estimated during the Havasu run as I ended up in Parker & also Mohave Valley during my travels... which put me within 90 miles of the 4000 mileage limit on my collector vehicle insurance for the year ending May 31st by the time I got home.

Called them up to see about adding more miles to the limit which they were happy to raise to 5000 miles/year.. for the princely sum of bugger all :)

Weird combination of working from home, and travelling home, having spent the weekend with the in-laws, plus a cheeky 'War of the Worlds' show in Newcastle on Saturday. 👾

I have a random later start today - probably only cleaning at the depot as no actual driving on the schedule I've been sent.

So I'm doing some admin stuff while I'm waiting for the sun to get high enough to be warm in the garden and I'll go sun bathing :o :o (only second time in 4 days - also second time in years     )

To avoid paying Sadiq Kahn a fiver a day to use the Blackwall pipe, I went through south London into the City this morning. Here are my musings...

20mph - not just on a few roads, but I would say 90% of both Greenwich and Lewisham. Fuck me, the Victorians must be spinning in their graves, the thought that society is now trying to reduce the speed at which to get from place to place to carry out the advancement of mankind.

Bus lanes - in most place they can used by us burly, sweaty bikers. Greenwich has a different opinion on many roads, for reasons I cannot fathom.

Lee Green - there used to be two pubs opposite one another. The Old Tiger's Head and the New Tiger's Head. The Old Tiger's Head is still serving pints. The New Tiger's Head now sells Halal meat, which made me chuckle.

The size of the average female around those parts - I'm not sure about lady dress sizes, but it's the equivalent of 'morbidly fucking obese'.

Lee Green High Street - handy back drop for anybody looking to set a movie in Mogadishu without the travel expense.

The Old Kent Road - that bastion of south London nawwwtiness, the hedonistic and bohemian strip of gin palaces, pubs, boxing clubs, specialist shops and dodgy doorways is now just a couple of miles of retail parks.

Fuck it. I think I'll happily pay the fiver and whizz through the pipe.

Yesterday/Today: Monday day of rest. Sorted some compost for the raised vegetable plot. Need more... Then drove to see daughter at the hospital, stayed late and home by 11am. Traffic on M23/25 very light, speeding F-Type got flashed.

Today: Up toooo early. Dog going woof. Nothing to view. Took car to fill with petrol, then got it washed and hoovered. Nice and clean now. Delivery of car parts will arrive this afternoon. Buying more compost and more soil improver. Taking son to Bluewater so he can meet up with friends and have a good time out. Doing lots of admin work and sorting out my calendar for the sermons/services until 2nd December 2025.

Will cook up something nice for dinner, no idea what, but it will be tasty!! Open bottle of good wine to enjoy with said meal.

Do not miss riding into the great smoke!! I've avoided it for the last 5 years and seeing what Gremmers has put above, will continue to avoid it!!

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Paperwork most of the morning cos the sun doesn't go around to the back garden until after 11 (and even then I had to move a seat to get in the sun!)

So I've done my application for a VTC (means I can do transfers for one person without a taxi licence) - more paperwork to do tonight sadly :( :(

Then I sunbathed - only for an hour but for a bird whose skin thinks she's ginger, an hour just before midday is quite enough!! Bit too windy to comfortably stretch out and "show off" the bikini

But I did have company :D. The small moggy came to sunbathe for a bit too :D :D

Tomorrow, the owner of a special little workshop has invited me over for a cuppa and to explore his workshop which has things such as an English wheel, bead rollers and goodness knows what else.
The owner is a life long bike builder (who I first met about 35-40 years ago) and has a huge amount of skills. Thinking about it, this to me is more exciting than being a kid at Christmas.

I will be going to bed at 7.00pm tonight just so that it might bring tomorrow morning around a bit quicker! It is going to be a long day today. :D

Some of his work. :D

I went to visit the above workshop. :D The owner has mentioned winding business down a touch so I asked if you ever need to sell one of your electric motorised scissor action bike workbenches to let me know, please? "Oh, bugger, I just sold one last week and for now I probably need the ones that are here". If only I had gone last week! Anyway, his work is beautiful. He was busy making an alloy tank for a bike, and it was as nice as anything that I have ever seen. A metalworking genuis!

Just spoke to my sister for the first time in 34 years using WhatsApp. We weren't ignoring each other, we just used email all the time. We just carried on like we'd spoken to each other yesterday.
Also: I bought my first laptop this morning!.. but my Luddite tendencies lead to me coming home with a cordless mouse too as those slidey finger pads just boil my piss.
And: Downloaded Forscan & WhatsApp onto the laptop.

Now having issues using the right keyboard and/or mouse. Bugger

Hand surgery today to correct Dupuytren's contracture. The ring finger on my left hand now has a 105⁰ bend, it's less than five years since it was last fixed. My right hand needs sorting out as well, I'll get it booked in for a couple of months time off I can. Then it's motorbike time again.

Gentle start as it's not been a great week and today is the first of two days off. Got woken up by squeaking - pretty sure one of the moggies brought in a mouse or similar but no way was I gonna try and find it at 6am! But I did send an emojii text to himself

Woken up proper by a call from said himself so had a chat while he drove to work. Language is a funny thing isn't it? I said, " shall I come over and meet you for lunch later?" and he replies with "if you want" (Si tu veux)

For me, that's not particularly positive, but to him it's a "yes that would be nice if you'd like to". It's taking me some time to work out that he IS being positive on things

Like "On verra" - We'll see - when I suggest something. To me, "We'll see" is not particularly positive, to him (or in French) it's more positive than negative, just not a commitment

So of course, he's building ammo with all this to tease me even more

Anyway, after I got up and organised stuff, admin'd and had breakfast, the mouse/vole/pointynosed* thingy ran by the kitchen door and 'hid' under a bag. So I grabbed the 'catch the little things the cats don't kill' tools (A tupperware box and piece of card!!!) and moved the bag, dropped the box over the mousything and slid the card under - one mouseything returned to freedom in the garden and no more squeaking in the house - for now!!!!

Now off to Chambery for lunch with my lovely man

*It really didn't look like a mouse or a vole. About the size of a vole, it was very small, but had an extremely pointy nose!!!

Cheers, you have just confirmed what I thought I may have in my right hand. I’ve got all the symptoms, funny little ridge to one end of my palm, finger starting to bend. Another visit to the docs I suppose. The joys of getting old.
