About to light the bbq

Cooked a chinese dinner whilst listening to a serious thunderstorm - now sitting watching it as it blows over

Lying on the sofa with my headphones on. But can still hear this fucker.
They excavated a huge amount Friday but hit rock so got the big guns on to finish the basement dig.
Some new homes along the way hit Rock straight away and took weeks to dig. Hopefully it'll only be a few days.
We have guests arriving today. We did tell them but they've waited 3 years for a holiday

It might be bad for you, but think of the chap in the cab doing that all day long. Pecking is about a dull as thing as you can do with a 360. Still, beats using a pick axe.

"How?!" you ask. Simple - it broke the rocker arms instead So that's some new rocker arms and some new pistons required. Plus top and bottom end rebuilds to fit them. Not worth it, I'm looking at at least £3000.

However I do now have the official figures for the employee car scheme. £300pcm and no deposit for a 300bhp mid-level executive saloon. Works out at just over 2/3 discount from retail price over the same period. Bit of a no brainer really.

Blimey - that does surprise me. So the rocker arms are weaker than the valves? Those must be VERY strong valves. And if the valves are OK, why would the pistons need replacing?

But, like you say, it's all moot. No way would you shell out £3k on a 120,000 mile motor when you have an offer like that in your back pocket. It's almost like it did you a favour...

I'm eating heated-up leftovers for my lunch. Yesterday I looked in the fridge and threw together a sort of Spanish-influenced stew of diced chicken, half a chorizo, a couple of chopped onion, tomatoes, chili, garlic, olives,rosemary and a bay leaf for good measure. We both ate it and afterwards wondered how something with such flavoursome ingredients could be so bloody bland.

Leaving it overnight hasn't improved the flavour, either. Just...nothingness.

Sacrificial rocker arms, that could be genius if it hadn't somehow broken pistons as well.

TBF it still doesn't have compression, so at least some of the valves might be bent and wedged open too. Or it could be that the cams just happened to stop somwhere with valves partially open. If it managed to break rocker arms though it must've been a proper impact.

They jsut went as far as needed to see that it'd suffered piston/valve impact and then called me. Could well be it's got bent valves they'd only discover when taking it apart.

I'd complain to BMW. Sometimes they do stuff like offer you a free engine, if you pay the fitting at a proper stealership, etc.. you never know your luck in a raffle.

My place of enforced servitude is just the other end of the Highway, so you could have invited me down for a spot of lunch.

I know that outside seating area well, as we ate there once. Only unlike you, we went in February when it was bloody freezing and they took us to a table out there with just some plastic awnings up to keep the weather out. I just looked at them with incredulity and asked them if they would sit out here and eat their dinner. At first they said there were no tables inside, but once we threatened leave, they quickly found one.

Just bizarre.

I'm down with some lurgy. Feels like random flu type thing. Been like a bag of shite on and off for the last 48 hours and done something I never ever do which is taken 2 days off sick. Have moments where I feel fairly ok, but not many of them.

Got to go out though as we've no food in the house for tea!

Sounds like the start of my covid, two days with a high temp feeling like crap and then another two weeks of bad cold.
