Yesterday I went to AAA to get new tags for the SBH. Unfortunately I didn't have all the paperwork, so to protect me from having some unknown stranger pay my registration they refused to it.
Went back today, paid $149 for the tags, they took the $$$ then the fuckers told me I needed a smog check.. so off the smog place, parted with $50 & back to AAA where they gave me the 2026 tag...
Got two extra keys cut for the lock on the gun case.
Picked up another losing lottery ticket. Bugger.

Spiffed up the F350, going for a drive tomorrow. Will make a more determined effort to keep my damn foot out of it, but it wants to run at 80mph.

Reinstalled the pool heat pump after the new patio area was laid. Thankfully all works!

Bodge of the week
Needed to do some work on the old push-iron and needed it stable and still.
So rescued the big G-clamp from the pool pump and found an old swinging arm holder from the rear paddock stand.
I was so pleased with the results I almost gave myself a medal

Cut the grass!
Still blue sky and sunshine and still salty roads,so no bike action.

Went to do a five minute job- removing a very old tax disc holder from the rear of the CBR which developed into 90 mins of bodging and the use of my machine mart tap and die set for the first time - the tab on the rear of the swinging arm that holds the mudguard in place is threaded but after 30 years had decided not to be.
I ended up putting a bolt on the back of it which seems much more secure.
I checked the diagram on fowlers website and it doesnβt have one to begin with.
Quite enjoyed it when done β¦

Went to look at houses. Not actual viewings, just locations of ones we liked on rightmove. Also to get a better street knowledge of the town. One thing the day did confirm is its definitely where we want to be.

Did exactly the same thing a few weeks back. Like yourself, I was happy

Got the bike out!!
Had a spin up to Boxhill to meet up with Beanie, and as we arrived I spotted Trog just getting to leave. Great to see him again albeit briefly.

Out for Sunday lunch today.
Yesterday was out to Saturday lunch
Tuesday is out to lunch again.
I am in serious danger of becoming a fat chuffed.

Took the spark plug out of the log splitter, attacked it with a wire brush, sprayed some EasyStart in the hole, put it back in, bathed in the glory of 'fixing the log splitter'.
Moved a load of old and mostly rotten logs to the 'bonfire' pile.
Planted a load of strawberry plants that my neighbour gave me yesterday.
Found two deceased mice in a full watering can

Outside, you lucky bastard.
I'm forever finding them behind curtains and in shoes. I do have four cats and live next to a farm and fields though.

This was the deal before getting a new cat, after our old one died,(t'other half got sick of the semi-dismantled voles that our old one liked to leave for us - I wasn't the biggest fan either tbf

).
Their videos look impressive

You've made my wife's day. She reckons it's worth Β£200 not to worry about Eddie cat dropping a mouse in her mouth while she's asleep.

Hell yeah.
They're ramping up production - ours was supposed to arrive in Jan originally, but they reckon they're almost caught up now, and I had to confirm shipping details this week, so.

I'm very impressed with everything I've read about the OnlyCat cat flap - a triumph of human ingenuity and one of the very few examples I've seen of AI genuinely making lives better.
However I won't be buying one, mainly because our cat (Wilko) is so unbelievably crap at catching things. He can just about manage a cabbage white butterfly, or a bird or rodent that was already dead when he chanced upon it, but as for catching something with a pulse, forget it. The cat flap we have is basically door-shaped and sized and controlled by a warm human being (normally me) so any attempts at smuggling in contraband is quickly detected and dealt with. Also, we operate a curfew, so he's not allowed out overnight or even late at night.
It's a low-tech approach, but it works...

Not for the moggies it doesn't.
Edit: Maybe I should get one though. Second biggest thing my two have brought in. First biggest being a fucking great only-just-captured-still-squeaking rat I had to finish off with Baby D's pogo stick...
