Seeing as it's a nice day, i pulled the bikes out to give them some air, and swept the workshop out.

JAPton is now on the workramp ready for stripping down and the Ed80 is just waiting for an MOT.

Took my wife to Chelmsford for some shopping and lunch to try and cheer her up a bit. The place is full of the usual suspects when it comes to eateries. I thought we'd end up in Prezzo or Ask Italian, but no, she wanted to go to the spoons as she used to go in there with her mum when they went shopping. That saved a few quid! :D I saw her by me a aftershave for my upcoming birthday too. All in all we had a nice day out.

Took the CBR through the Blackwall tunnel - just an excuse for a run out - bloody traffic everywhere.
Watching Sideways the Paul Giamatti film for the umpteenth time …

Managed to cut a finger while making a sarnie & didn't feel it, let alone notice until the kitchen counter looked like a murder scene.

His socks will last twice as long...
His comment at one point was - “what will I do with all the left shoes ?” 🙄🙄🤣🤣🤣

Not sure he’s ready for me to take the piss yet, but he teases me enough, so I’ll definitely respond in kind when he’s up to it 🤣🤣🤣

I’m going off Mercedes! Second time this season I’ve had issues with a Merc Sprinter - loosing power going up any sort of incline. Always interesting when the job is ski resort transfers 🙄🙄

Turns out it was a dying battery ?? Still shit!

Today my tacho didn’t register the tiny bit of driving I did at the depot so I could do a 15 mins pause before coming up to resort where I’m supposed to do the 30 mins pause before top up. “Luckily” (as long as they don’t puke everywhere!!) the group I’m collecting has loads of kids so no way will they be out, loaded and ready to go by 5am!! Not sure I’ll get the full 45 mins tho, but I can hope 🤞🏻🤞🏻

If you Google 'one legged shoe exchange uk' there's a range of things aimed at dealing with the shoe problem. I don't know what the situation is in France and it's probable pot-luck as to what the options are. You can donate spares too.

They seem to do better in some countries than others. One place provides a voucher that gets you 50% off - probably somewhere with a lot of war veterans?

Booked a service and an MOT for the car. I was half tempted to service it myself, it's not hard, but I don't like the idea of rolling around on the drive in February and I might shift it on in six months time and the stamp will look good in the book.

Volvo main stealer wanted £530 (is the Major service they alternate and it had a minor £330 last time).

It's going to a local indy this time, major service with Volvo parts £340. Almost £200 cheaper, but I won't get the 'free' breakdown cover (that only recovers it to the nearest Volvo dealer anyway).

I priced up the bits on Opie, the fuel filter alone is £60... For a fuel filter wtf!

Is your a Sensus or AAOS car? If Sensus you also lose out on the software updates

Sensus, however I believe Volvo stopped releasing Sensus updates in September 2023.

Although just recently I've received a few ota app updates for stuff like Google local search and the weather app.

Yesterday we decided to try making our own bread in a breadmaker. The wife found one near southend airport which is local and it was only £15 after the wife haggled, so we went over last night to collet it. We got the breadmaker okay, but we also got a puncture and I think a speeding ticket. :angry-cussingblack:

Waited for the rain to stop, swept and washed the drive/path clear of accrued dog and MTBing mud. Walked dogs, trip to shops for supplies and then off to work for a 12hr night later.

Currently doing little bits of re-org in the garage. With the Kwak now with it's new owner i've got more space, but i don't want to waste it as such so organising things accordingly. I've thrown a bucket load of stuff away already and still planning a few more bits to go.

It has given me a nice decent size work area for spannering the MTbs though which is good..

I think some of you guys would laugh at how much space is in there considering i think i'd like more space. I've seen some of yours with half a dozen motorbikes in there clogging up the space.

Been thinking about changing my car as I've had it almost 2.5 years now. Got offered more in p/x from a dealer than JLR would buy it outright, but i think i'll maybe try a private sale first. Then I dropped a wheel off for a puncture repair and looked at my car as I walked back to it and I'm not sure I do want to get rid of it now!

Got 4 new tyres fitted. It's always a disappointment when you spend a slab of money and, to all intents and purposes, you don't really notice anything different.

(Cost 2p under £700 :( ).
