Re: What have you done today thread?
I have Ikea shelving/bookcase three tier thing with the lower tier being pull out wicker baskets. Got it 2nd hand some 15 years ago and we know the previous owner who bought it new some five years previous. It still looks as good as new and as solid as the day it was built. It also does not look like my Grans house so more that chuffed.
Saying that i also have some old Stag Minstrel bedroom furniture that looks just as good and well made

Re: What have you done today thread?
First day back at work after a 3-week holiday. I asked the obligatory 'What did I miss?' question as I stepped in.
150 colleagues told they are at risk of redundancy last Thursday.
My boss among them.
Was told I'm officially not at risk this morning.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Gassed up the F350. Owing to the ramp under the rear/left tires while fueling & *mostly* managing to keep my foot out of it while driving yesterday I've seen an increase from 12.5mpg to 14mpg. However, I wasn't quite so light-footed on the way home yesterday & there was about 40 miles of city driving. I think with better discipline I could get 15mpg.
The difference between 12.5mpg & 14mpg is about 460 miles to a fill-up to about 520 miles, 15mpg would see about 555 between fill ups.
Sanded & re-varnished the OMS.

The though of filling a 37 gallon (even poxy little US gallons) tank terrifies me. 140 litres at £1.28 per litre = bankruptcy.ZRX61 wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 8:00 pm Gassed up the F350. We've been re-asphalting the plate shop roof, gave one of the screws some advice on his tax affairs.
Ok, well mebbe not quite so Shawshank but we've just been removing an old flat roof to change the direction it falls to.
None of its hard, just that its a big roof and will take time.

Coughed, a lot...
Felt fine yesterday so thought I was over the lurgy after almost three weeks, then it came back last night. Bugger.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Up to take wife to station. Son to work. Back to the school to lead Collective worship, talking about living water. Headed home, did some reading. Took daughter to the station and then headed to the crem to take a funeral (school teacher's father passed just before Christmas). I drove straight from there to Maidstone to collect wife and daughter and bring them home (20 minutes in car versus 1 1/2 hours on public transport). Heading to my Local Governors Board meeting for the school and then Bible Study at 7.30pm this evening. Might have a bite later on.

Living the dream !
Walked the dog (twice), dug up some Stinking Iris, we has slowly taken over the garden. Oddly it is plant and not a weed but boy, does it propagate!
Now psyching myself up for an e-bike ride at 18.45. It is bleeding freezing!
So sorry @the_priest I won't be at Bible Study ....

It's an omelette with spuds and trimmings all done in one pan to save washing up.
