Yeah that sort of thing can happen, especially on something more niche, higher spec etc. It's plausible they had to get a new or otherwise special fuel pump for this crazy bike and they didn't know how it was going to go. So as you've inferred, they slap more conservative requirements on customer bikes while they work in the background. Normally they'd have only a couple of different, very well known, pumps for their entire model range.

I would have guessed it's more based on rig testing at the pump manufacturer etc rather than any dealer feedback, but that is just a guess.

Guessing there's a massive labour charge? Probably a million tiny bolts to undo to get at everything.

Plus a healthy exotics tax.

I thought Weeksy said he wasn't allowed back in until he got rid of it,on the grounds of good taste and decency. :shhh:

I do, it’s the “riding like a pansy alarm”.

Good on ya! Your last shirt has no pockets and all that, so spend your dosh on something enjoyable. If that something enjoyable also happens to be two wheeled lunacy that stays fuck you to everything else, even better! :D

Washed it Wednesday and on Thursday drowned it in ACF-50 and Muc Off HCB-1 corrosion inhibitors and its been put in the shed with tubular heaters under it and an optimate on the battery. I'll have to remember this for its first ride and get it in motion quickly so I don't disappear in a cloud of fumes as it warms up.

Not down here on the Sarf coast; it's wet n pissy n horrible weather now till at least March and any hint on colder, dryer days means they spread salt like it's going out of date. Any ICE 2 wheeled trips will be to avoid being "bus wanka" on engineering works days if I can't have the car or emergency trips to see elderly relatives.

Gave the bike its monthly check over, spun the wheels, decided to put it on the paddock stand and warm it up. All went well until the ECU decided the back wheel doing 50 and the front stationary meant the front wheel sensor was faulty so its thrown load of alarms and engine light. Too clever for its own good. Quick google and found how to display the code on the dash which was front wheel speed sensor. D'oh. Fix is to actually ride it properly but that isn't happening until my garden dries out and the roads are looking a bit less pot holed.
