Presumably because even the Democrats aren't stupid enough to want President Kamala.
This time next year, President Trump moves back into the Whitehouse...

Same reason Trump chose Pence: To prevent assassination.

It really is a disastrous situation. Biden, to keep Trump out, or Trump to keep Biden out. Words fail me.

Is there literally no better option in the running?
How is it these days that none of the west seems to have leaders that can actually lead or want to lead, it's almost like it's all planned out and the lack of option of someone really good who will look after the public rather than their mates and own back pockets is set up, no?

Yesterday was the Nevada Republican Primary. "None of these candidates" got the highest number of votes (63.2%, 43,893 votes)... Trump wasn't on the list, Nikki Haley got 30.5% (21,999 votes), with Pence 3rd with 4% (2,752 votes)Greenman wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 1:13 pm Is there literally no better option in the running?

To say that my good friend over in Boston is depressed by this would be an understatement. He and many other Americans feel the country has lost its way and that things are going to get much worse before they wake up from their malaise and get the place back to where it should be. That does not include the orange despots MAGA version as the answer.

He did pretty damn good the first time... The issue is people focus on his personality & not what he actually accomplished.
& let's not forget the third option:
Kennedy.

Trump adversaries are trying to get him locked up before the election. Has anyone noticed the irony when comparing the US and Pakistan elections?

This one's going to roll throughout the various courts for months.US Constitution Fourteenth Amendment wrote:
Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

It's been three years & they still haven't charged a single person with insurrection.irie wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 4:22 pmThis one's going to roll throughout the various courts for months.US Constitution Fourteenth Amendment wrote:

Re: This time next year, President Trump moves back into the Whitehouse...
The American people aren't "the enemy"... I guess you still ignoring Trumps comment during the speech that day about protesting peacefully?.. or the fact that Pelosi refused Trumps request (on Jan 4th) for extra security measures during the inauguration etc.. & that she called the Pentagon to get the military to remove him from office.. which IS insurrection, Luckily the Pentagon told her to fuck off.
In related news, Biden forgot the name of Hamas yesterday & referred to them as "the opposition" & stood there looking like his brain had melted for just a bit too long.
Luckily a reporter said "Hamas?" & woke him up again.

DOJ has released the report about Biden illegally having classified documents.

You misunderstand the meaning of the amendment.
It is about 'enemies of the state'.

Re: This time next year, President Trump moves back into the Whitehouse...
70 million Americans aren't enemies of the State.
As for the Biden DOJ report, they absolutely destroyed any thoughts that he is mentally competent & stated he isn't fit to stand trial... so they didn't charge him. He couldn't remember when he became VP, when he left the office of VP & got the death of his son wrong by * several years*.
Diminished faculties was used to describe his memory, as was "painfully slow" & stated that he struggled to read his own notebook entries.
WH press secretary Karine Jean-Goebbels has pretty much gone into hiding.
