I'm still not coming regardless of the weather, HTH.

I'd rather not if it's all the same.
I'm pretty sure I'll be there. I'm sure you can appreciate that 180 miles in the pissing rain, twice, wouldn't be much craic.

I'm not arguing fella, it's just as i say, sometimes there's other things going on in the background that need considering. It wasn't only directed to you, but to everyone or anyone who's thinking of not making it.

If it makes you feel any better my trip is 350 miles each way and i'll be there. My only decision is wearing textile kit with my leathers in one of the panniers and if i get soaked on Friday i might find a hotel room to dry off in and just use the tent Saturday night post BBQ.
Forecasts are varied depending where you look and some say showers as opposed to biblical rain that i have ridden down in before for the trackday .... and then home again in the same monsoon

It can be nice in Pembrey and pissing down up the road. Weather people are shite, they can't forecast, they just change to suit whatever. They talk a good job, bit like politicians, arse holes. OK...maybe not that bad. Track drys quick aswel.
I treat it as a little adventure, something a bit different. Bike fun, beer fun, chat fun. Tbh, I don't mind riding in the rain, as long as the gears decent ish.
Looking forward to it.

Hire a van, it'll cost you the same as a couple of nights hotel, and you can sleep in the dry in a van.Bigyin wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 5:41 pmIf it makes you feel any better my trip is 350 miles each way and i'll be there. I'll be there on Friday night about 7ish with Sam and Dewi. We'll have a big awning that anyone can put their kit in. Also a van with a diesel heater that anyone is welcome to put their kit in to dry. Although I cant sleep in it with the heater on it's way to hot but its a start on drying things. If you want get changed in there, no problem. It makes life a whole lot easier.

I'm a southern softy so am in a van and B&B so won't need it ( unless it chucks it down during the day Saturday ) but that's excellent - top man!Bowman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 8:21 pm I'll be there on Friday night about 7ish with Sam and Dewi. Like Dodgy I enjoy the whole weekend away on the bike. If it’s dry then happy days, if it’s wet then the kit I have should keep me comfortable and I can still enjoy the ride.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 8:00 pm

Been chatting to Abel tonight and he has sent me a garmin file for a couple of routes he would use so it will be a different adventure this year

Hoping to get there not much after six. It's about 3.5 hrs depending on route, chippy stop, fuel stop, so leaving about 1.30 ish possibly.
@tricol . If you want a cuppa and break your journey your welcome to my gaff. Just outside Shrewsbury, just off the A49.

@Dodgy69 Thanks for the offer. Not sure yet on timings, I was thinking about lunch time or so, I'll let you know.
Just been sorting a few new bits on the bike this last couple of days, and making sure this new seat bag won't budge.

Assuming all goes to plan, we'll be leaving Bucks mid afternoon , aiming to get to the circuit 6-7pm to say hello and drop off beer etc, then we'll check in to our B&B and likely have a curry and a few cold Cobras at the Naz Rasoli just down the road from the circuit
