Still not ready. But I could buy an 890 instead?
HAhaaha. You're right in some ways, but my riding is both short and focused... Whilst in some ways a 790 or 890 would be a good idea it ain't a 690 either.. I dunno, there's just a little 'something' about the 690 engine that floats my boat .Taipan wrote: Wed May 18, 2022 1:32 pm Lol, might not be a bad idea. I'd worry that SMC-R is a little too focused to be an enjoyable ride every time?

Aye, that's the plan. Wasn't anyones fault really (well, technically it was the finance company who we were paying off the MT07 but they messed it up).
No mate
NAh, as i've said above, the SMC-R may NOT be the right bike... i don't sodding know.. I think it's more 'me' than the bikes. But one thing i do know is, the 790/890 range isn't.... HAving ridden one recently the 890 was absolutely brilliant, but TOO brilliant, in terms of power it's more than i want or need on the road. If i were buying a bike purely for track, it's arguably what i'd have bought instead this week, but i'm not.Jody wrote: Wed May 18, 2022 11:08 pm Anyone else think this is getting dangerously close to "I've cancelled it and ordered an 890 R with a fu fu valve and flux capicitor thrown in"
Really? Happens all the time to me, not just with bikes. I see it as a good thing. If I'd not have bought thing A I'd not have that experience and the knowledge to move on to thing B. Change is good and means more new experiences... embrace the regret!Taipan wrote: Thu May 19, 2022 7:56 amI can't think of anything worse than sitting on a swing chair on yer porch, in a moment of reflection, thinking I wish I'd own (insert name of choice) bike.
Err, we're saying the same thing aren't we!?dern wrote: Thu May 19, 2022 12:32 pmReally? Happens all the time to me, not just with bikes. I see it as a good thing.
