And it goes like fuck, I'm a total convert to traction control, it's fab, even works on gravel.

Re: GSX-S 750
So where does this leave your brain now with "old bikes are all you need"? I'm guessing that perception may be changing and we'll see the gsx on track ?

Re: GSX-S 750
I was talking out of my arse, old bikes are fun and a different experience to modern bikes, can I have my bike but have it look exactly like a Yoshimura GS1000 from 1980?
Dunno if I'll take the GSX on track, there's something good about ringing the neck out of an old bike, I'd be a fuck site quicker on the GSX, probably well into Inters pace, certainly on a modern GSXR750 I could be.

Not happening, I don't want a wet back, and I can't see it when I'm riding it.

Re: GSX-S 750
Yes you can, tbh I've currently got a grin like a Cheshire Cat, the best motorcycle ride I've had in years, should've bought one a couple of years ago.weeksy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:12 pmIt's been quite enlightening then.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:08 pmI was talking out of my arse, old bikes are fun and a different experience to modern bikes, can I have my bike but have it look exactly like a Yoshimura GS1000 from 1980?

Re: GSX-S 750
I don't know if I'd want one, but some sort of Hypermotard based on one could be fun.

Turn the traction right off . It's shit.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 12:30 pmThey're surprisingly good for a 1985 design, the GSX is better at everything, but it's not a massive difference.Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 9:39 amI thought the same when I bought my 675R,the Street Triple's superior at most things but there's something about those old FZ750's.I'll never sell mine..Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 7:57 pm
I really like it, but I was expecting a bigger difference to a 30 year old similar bike.
Anyway I'm waiting for the roads to dry so I can go out on it this afternoon, picked up the handbook this morning, found out the traction control cuts power if the front wheel lifts, which means I'm not as crap at wheelies as I thought.

Re: GSX-S 750
Nah, it's fun, I doubt if I've got the throttle control to accelerate as hard as I can with it switched on, especially when it's wet in patches like today.

Re: GSX-S 750
Not tried it in wet yet. But it's too intrusive in the dry. Even cuts in on straights when accelerating.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:37 pm Nah, it's fun, I doubt if I've got the throttle control to accelerate as hard as I can with it switched on, especially when it's wet in patches like today.

Not everyone rides like you. Never once on any bike have I had the TC light kick on.Yorick wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:39 pmNot tried it in wet yet. But it's too intrusive in the dry. Armature!
I had it flickering on my 49bhp Guzzi V7, pulling away from lights in the dry!

Re: GSX-S 750
Yeah I had that today in low gears it cuts in if the front wheel lifts far enough, I honestly doubt I could accelerate that hard without it, the front would have lifted and I would have to have backed off.Yorick wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:39 pmNot tried it in wet yet.
