She had really bad toothache last week and went to the dentist. He recommended going to hospital and they operated the next morning (Saturday) taking a tooth out. Unfortunately the infection seemed to come back last night so she’s still in.

She might get out for Christmas and she might not.
Get a takeaway if need be.

Cycle to work on 4 hrs sleep, picked up a tail as I turned onto the A27 cycle-path to Lewes so the race was on(in my head anyway). I’d dropped them by the half way point. Victory was mine!😂

A day of inspecting Isolation paperwork and requesting corrections, too many people had Christmas head on so failed to read our emails properly and then had to reissue the paperwork again!🤬

Now trying not to doze off on the sofa as I want to see the colourised Dr Who on tonight.

@Scotsrich hope the Mrs feels better soon.

Nasty. Had this a few years back with the wife after the face started to swell. Managed to get the dental hospital before it closed but they could only drain a rather large abscess and give her enough pain killers until she could see her dentist two days later but thankfully no need for a Hospital visit. Good luck

Sounds nasty. Hope she gets over the infection and makes it home in time for Xmas.

Been down town to the pub.

Not very exciting, but first time in 4 weeks. Pal was over and his last night so had to do it

Great to be out, but only 45 mins before pain was too much.

Big smiles inside 😊

WFH - all quiet on that front, a mere two meetings today, so took the opportunity to clear my inbox down, while no fucker was busy filling it back up again 😆

Aside from that:
  • Fitted new chair covers to the dining chairs
  • Sorted out my bike tracker (that'd been playing up)
  • Wired in my Keis heated bodywarmer connection ready for the spring
  • Sorted out various appointments and other bits of life admin
  • Packed Muz off up north
  • Wrapped his pressies
  • Resigned myself to the fact that my festive cold is stepping up a gear, and cracked open the Beecham's

Small dollop of Vicks VapoRub in each nostril before bed. Top lip will do if you dont like the felling. I have used this for many a year and probably have a cold once a year and no more than the sniffles any other time.

Got the 3in buffer out & gave the tailgate on the F350 some benefit. It's black powdercoat & kinda satin finish... or rather it was... now it's shiny black powdercoat :)

Got a letter from my dentist today, thought it was another frigging bill..
Nope. Refund of $308 as they over billed me a few weeks ago & underestimated the amount the insurance co would pay 🙂

Last ride on the pushbike to work this year, damp and dank it was. Working tomorrow as someone has to be there to turn the railway off if a troubled person comes to visit.

Somebody recommended one of those Vicks usb diffusers to me last time I had a crappy cold so I tried that last night. I've slept most of the way through OK, so 👍

Was going to visit the wife this morning as they were going to do a biopsy on something they weren’t happy about.

Just got messaged to say not to bother as they’ve reviewed it and decided it’s non cancerous which is a relief. I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night.

She’ll still be in till tomorrow at least so it’s a microwave Christmas dinner for me. Unless one of my kids invites me over.

But you know….I don’t care.

Today I left home just after midnight to drive to the depot to go to work. It was snowing all day yesterday and still when I left and I wanted to make sure the baby Fiat roller skate would get me there on time!! I got there in longer than usual, but with time for a coffee before getting the Sprinter out! As the job was two staff transfers from Courchevel down to Brides les Bain with a couple of weird stops on the way, I was a bit nervous but, whilst I got the wheels spinning a couple of times and had a little slide (whilst empty) the relief at not having to put chains on was immense (I really must learn how to do that on the Sprinters!!)

Finished at about 7am, then had a chat with, well, with my 'boyfriend' !!! Sadly, not a good Christmas for him. He doesn't really like Christmas much and the weekend hasn't helped. A friend of his died over the weekend, not the first time he's had bad news at Christmas. And it's put the kybosh on us meeting up for a night out at the end of the week. So I'm heading to Chambéry on Thursday morning to have a coffee and proper chat with him. Not exactly to cheer him up, but hopefully it'll help a bit. And we can plan another evening out! It's all a bit of a challenge as he basically works 7 days a week and we both drive at weekends (different companies) so having Friday off we were both quite keen to meet up. It's not really long distance, but sometimes it feels like it!! :(

So, then I thought - right, I can go to the Skoda dealer and finally get to chat with them about the car I want. Checked their opening hours and all's good, but got there and, yup - closed for Christmas Eve!! I always forget that France closes Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and reopens for Boxing Day!!

Came home and slept to catch up - I don't sleep well before a stupid o'clock start :( Just made some gingerbread mix ready to bake, going to do a couple of things after I catch up here and then get some more sleep before doing the same work shift as last night!! If I can get enough sleep today, I should have the oomf to go skiing tomorrow morning :D :D :bblonde:

Snow's awesome and the sun is out for the week :D :D
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Made the mistake of riding in to work today, thick fog and drizzle all the way :angry-cussingblack: and the bikes now covered in salt.

One of our directors came round and asked about morale in our dept  so I let rip

I fookin hate work………… only 7 more years to go and I really didn’t want to change jobs but our place has got so toxic I might have to look elsewhere.

This reminds me of the time I walked into the traffic office & was cheerily greeted by the Depot manager who asked 'How's it going Drive'.The reply made him jump back & the traffic clerk had his head in his hands,it wasn't going well at all.Amongst other things I told him that I was looking for another job & fair enough, he said 'Right we'll have a meeting tomorrow & sort things out'.We had the meeting the next day,he talked me out of walking away & 6 months later he left the place! :wtf:
