We have to book our slot now. You also have to specify which car you are going to use, and declare what stuff you are dumping.

A Carols and Readings service with Eucharist. Then another service at the other church. Both great fun. Last night we had 87 people at our Salvation Army Band carol service, double what we had last year. Numbers are going up, and people say the church is dying... I have had 4 requests for Baptism in the past three weeks and two are people who have never been to church before, but are finding something about Jesus that draws them into the faith. Wonderful!

Took the dogs for a walk, look at the Xmas lighst etc, I noticed alot of houses have those full sized bows on the front door. I said to my wife how popular they've become over the last few years. As the words left my mouth...

Tell her it's another wife-swapping thing like pampas grass or a model yacht in the window or a pineapple or whatever it is in the shopping trolley.

In Normandy, years ago, several buildings had wooden frames fitted into the window recesses, with wide ribbon and giant bows.

On a three story building, it looked quite impressive.

Pretty much finished Operation Dining Room Facelift:
  • fitted a new light fitting
  • tidied away the last of the crap
  • currently washing the chair seat covers, before refitting them and then putting new covers over the top 👍
Wrapped the in-laws presents, as he's heading north tomorrow.

Final Christmas meal experiment (this time including pudding) is about to complete.

Advanced Auto has gone tits up & are closing 700 stores. Today, they dropped the discount on stuff to 90% so I decided to drop by the local one. Parking lot was full with nowhere to park & the line of people looked like a migrant caravan crossing Mexico. There wasn't a single black, white or Asian person in line.
Decided not to bother getting in line.

I hope Man U have a few bob to give Ruben Amorim in the January Transfer window. This shit bunch of egos is not his fault and he must be allowed to make his mark and bring in some new players. Onana, Rushford, Antony, Hojlund, Fernandes and Maguire. You lot can fuck off for starters. Bet they have better player in the B team FFS. This may be the shock to get the others who are hanging on for big money to pull your socks up.

Replaced the batteries in a UPS.

I cheaped out and just bought the batteries rather than the full preassembled tray.

Fuck me, they were proper stuck in the tray with the worlds strongest sticky pads, I'm proper fucked now.

Got the house to myself until Friday. WooT!! That means I can get caught up on several projects in the garage & also tidy it up so I'm not stepping over stuff to get to stuff or do things.

I seem to change mine every year or so it seems. The battery in my UPS in only about 7ah so don't last long with all the power cuts we get but they're not expensive.

Just back from visiting Mrs S in hospital. Flipping 90 mile round trip.

She had really bad toothache last week and went to the dentist. He recommended going to hospital and they operated the next morning (Saturday) taking a tooth out. Unfortunately the infection seemed to come back last night so she’s still in.

She might get out for Christmas and she might not.

The boy was riding at Pontypool today, after we're driving to deepest Pembrokeshire for Xmas. Stopped at a pub for a beer and dominos as we're ahead of schedule
