Passed a practice Highway code test and failed one FFS. Some of the questions are seriously designed to make you fail. And the rules are very not used in real life!!

Also did some cleaning and tidying in bits of the apartment. Got to go sort the stuff I chucked in my mates garage this week/weekend - not sure where I'm going to put it mind you!!

Waved Kaleb out of a junction in his tractor

Cleaned up the very small amount of mess left by having a heat pump installed, filled and painted around some rad pipe work, then went shopping on the bike along with a trip to Maccys.
Then spent a chunk of the day understanding and changing the schedule for the heat pump to work with my Cosy Octopus tariff, more complicated than it should be.
Then sat back and enjoyed being warm and comfy at less than 20% of the cost from the previous electric heating.
Fun day all in all.

Funny thing. We went to the farm in September what was way to busy for a wet day so just drove past. Further down the road we got stuck behind a blond bint in a new range rover. Went bowling!! I was doubly disadvantaged cos the lane definitely wasn’t level at the end (unless the ball was dead centre it would curve away!!! But we all had that issue!

Anyway, I still can’t bowl! Mind you I can actually throw the ball now! Just not hard enough to beat the unlevel lane

Took the F350 to the RockStore, turned down an offer of $45,000 for it.

Vampire visit this morning Sadly the nurse that came to do the vampire thing is one that has struggled before with my virtually invisible and rolling veins so I was a smidge nervous!

But, we tried the right arm for a change and it was fine! We'd both said/agreed that she might have to go for a second vein (there's quite a list of tests ) and neither of us thought that the vein would stay 'open' long enough to fill the line of little bottles!!

Excellent start to a Monday - vein found first time, no jiggling of needle needed and all the little bottles with adequate filling and no need for a second effort

Downside is there was one she couldn't do here - didn't quite get why, but as I have to go to the valley this week anyway, I'll have to stop off at the lab there and get it done direct

Cut the tip of my left index finger with a knife this morning as I prepared my breakfast. Did I , first aider for decades, have any pilfered plasters in the house? Did I buggery. Did I bleed continually over every work surface, mug and boiled egg I touched? Yes. Did I find peeling a hard-boiled egg* particularly challenging with a wad of kitchen towel on my finger? Absolutely. Was it catching in my glove every time I pulled the clutch in on the way to work? Yes. Is it getting on my tits now that I'm in work and typing with a plaster wrapped around the tip of it? Yes.

On the plus side, have I remembered to pilfer some plasters to take home? Hell, yeah!

It's the bane of H&S professionals the world over when they audit first aid kits and stuff is missing. What if everyone did the same without telling anyone?

There would be no plasters when actually needed!

In my experience, it's fresh eggs that don't peel easily. The membrane between the egg shell and the white comes away easier with older eggs.

The technique I use with fresh eggs is to empty some of the water from the pan then shake them vigorously in the saucepan (helps to have a lid on). They peel a lot easier after the bashing.

Mrs. G recommends cracking the eggs and leaving them in cool water.

Mind, we disagree on the level of boiling for a boiled egg. I like to give them 6-7 minutes, so that the yolk is still soft. She likes a harder, crumbly yolk.

If we're not eating them hot, they go in ice water after they come out of the hot water.

I was taught, in a 4* hotel kitchen no less, slightly less than fresh eggs and then cooled under running cold water until cold.

I was a KP as a youth, I peeled lots of hard boiled eggs. And a lot of vegetables.

Got a ....... shudder......job!
As I'm over for a couple of months, might as we'll earn a bit of pocket money

Lugged a shit ton of books and bookcases upstairs to make room for my new massive fridge, which is arriving on Wednesday.

The old fridge decided to pack up a week ago, and as we're planning to knock out a wall for a big kitchen next year, it didn't make sense to buy a replacement small one.

So there will now be a fridge freezer in my dining room for the foreseeable future
