I found out that bees tunnelled when our Labrador dug up a nest in the back gardenKungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 7:00 pmI spotted two bee's disappearing in to tunnels in my back garden today.
I was today old when I discovered that bees tunnelled!
I'm now worried about mowing the lawn in case I collapse the burrows!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
The house I grew up in had a slightly unusual grass surround with a flat top and 45 degree side 'walls' which contained huge bee's nest - it got used as a BMX / motorcycle ramp without anything bad happening. Don't worry, it'll (probably) be fineKungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 7:00 pmI spotted two bee's disappearing in to tunnels in my back garden today.

They'll be fine, usually go quite deep. Miner bees - there's 1500 different types. Got 'em in our lawn too.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 7:00 pmI spotted two bee's disappearing in to tunnels in my back garden today.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
I thought I'd already mentioned this, but can't find it ! ?
About 10 days ago I noticed a smallish cat kicking around the backyard, the very definition of a scaredy cat, but looked healthy.
I started by leaving saucer of milk on my window ledge which he nervously lapped up. Over time, I started leaving the window open, then moved the saucer closer and closer until after about a week we got to here...
About 3 days ago another larger cat appeared at the top of the wall, they were meowing at each other very loudly. I decided to investigate further, particularly as the cat would come, eat, run away and then come back less than an hour later. It was then that I realised that the back yard is surrounded by 8ft high walls, the poor damn cat is stuck !!
I went and bought some actual food for him(?) as I figured I was the only person providing for him!
I made a bridge / ramp so that he could get out, I put food at several spots on the ramp and a pile at the top.
When I checked a few hours later, the food from the ramp was gone, except the stuff at the top and my mate the cat was in his default position, wedged into a tiny corner
I put more food on the ramp, hoping this would eventually work.
This morning I've been out and checked and I can't find the cat and all the food from the ramp has gone. I'm thinking the cover of darkness gave him the confidence he needed to escape.

You were lucky. It would have attacked you during the night and eaten your face.

Someone posted out sockets for me to work on the Triumph. Sadly they were not the correct size, but he posted them 1st Class and told me to return them slowest post. Kind people make things better, even if it is not always quite right.

Auto renew letter dropped on the doormat for the Harley, oh bugger thinks I, here we go this is about to cost me an hour of my life doing the usual comparison checks and then on the phone to get them to match it
Pleasantly surprised that it's 80 quid cheaper than last year and within a tenner of new prices online, so that's a little win for the day

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
We've just had our youngest guests in the apartment, 22 &25.
Very nice and we waved them off at 8:30 .
Just been down to check everything OK and they'd been out and bought us a thankyou card and nice bottle of wine.
Maybe Karma for me helping them change a flat tyre on their hire car late last night. They were panicking coz of their early flight today.
I'm sure they'll be back
