Been here.
Kynance Cove, stunning place.
Cracking place but check the tide times before you go, don't get there an hour before high tide.

Today I learned that being 64 & doing prep work, concrete & brick laying in 80+ temps wasn't one of my smartest ideas. Still have 4.5 bricks to do (ran out of mud), then pointing etc.
Actually went for a sit down in the garage, which became laying down in the garage.
Time for an 800 Motrin.
Edit: & a shot of rum.

Got up early cos I have to leave here at 4am on Monday, so need to stay in the early bird routine for the weekend!
But, ages ago I bought a jar opener for a spazzy arm and haven't used it!! Randomly I decided to have jam on toast (ok, baguette!) this morning and couldn't open the jar
Remembered the spazzy helper and it works

It did make two dents in the lid, probably should have used the other end? But anyway, Myrtille Jam on toasted baguette for 'elevenses'!!!!

I've gone completely mediterranean and haven't bought butter for quite some time, olive oil on bread these days (I might buy one loaf a month). I now prefer olive oil to butter.

I’ve never quite ‘got’ olive oil. I use butter in so much stuff that I’d never consider oil for (Belfast grannie used to fry eggs in butter - damn they tasted good!!)
I rarely eat bread TBF, but had a bit of baguette left from an emergency lunch but yesterday and hate throwing it out!!

You can't not get it here, they cook with it, pour it on salads, use it on bread, it's everywhere. If you asked for butter in a cafe or restaurante chances are they wouldn't have it, you'd be the only customer that year to ask for any.
That said, the locals are cutting back on olive oil, the price has almost doubled in the last two years. I could buy 5 litres for €25 in 2022, now it's €45.
Pro tip for anyone looking to buy olive oil in Spain: an olive press is called an "almazara", search for it in Google maps and you should find the nearest one. They usually have a shop on site, same as buying wine in a bodega.

I love olive oil and normally prefer Spanish to greek oil and Italian isnt on my radar at all as it always seems flavourless compared to the others? Although olive oil is fattening is really good for you unlike most other oils.

My mate is a kerbside mechanic who does this almost daily. Just up the same street is a guy who was under a Landrover doing the same thing and the jack went. He how lives in a wheelchair.
Ugh nasty, hate that sort of thing.
A neighbour was fannying about with a seized brake caliper on his car - off the ground and wheel off, on the crappy scissor jack only, which itself was listing at 25°. I ran back and pulled out my half decent lift and axle stands so at least we could fanny about without killing anyone.

Played with an outboard motor today.
Never laid spanners on one before!
Mental note, don't engage gear when the prop is in a bucket of water.
Just off to the shops for a new bucket.
