I've never seen anything like that before, what causes it?

I imagine with the Priests that most of the visible damage occurred after it went pop if he was motoring a bit and it deflated pretty much completely. He did hit some debris, but even so.

Then went on to Lavenham and had a brilliant day out. What a lovely town. Home now after two weeks away and tanned, slimmer and somewhat relaxed. Managed to bag 1GB internets which will be installed on Wednesday at £30/month (YouFibre). Better than the snail stuff from Plus.net 80/20mb.... Anyhoos, have a lovely day all!

You're supposed to stop when you hit a Stinger, and talk politely to the nice police officers....

FiL's birthday.

Wife didn't know what to buy, for some reason I thought he might like a BBQ.

Went to the local B&Q.

They'd got a Charbroil 310b for £270, reduced from £350. That'll do says I.

Get to the checkout and it scans at £170.

Result.

Got the news an old mate of mine died a few days ago. He was a difficult man to be around as the drink got hold of him, but I really liked him as a mate, despite his issues and I always knew he'd be a good guy to have in your corner if it hit the fan. He served our country in Bosnia and put his time in with the LFB after his service as well. The drink in you made you unpopular, but I valued you mate and I wish we could have another night in town and yakking into the dawn. Godspeed Garry...

Were very thorough and after the x-ray, the doctor called in the traumatologist as she wasn't happy.
He prodded and poked and decided I have damaged ligaments to needed a cast on.

Just seen traumatologist.
No lasting problems.
Just need to wear this if I'm doing any work.
Otherwise go gently. Do anything unless any pain. Gonna be a week before I go out on the bikes 🏍

Yesterday, almost had my day spoiled by this chap...

Image

I was *making good progress* (about double the limit) & had an "oh bugger" moment. :wtf: Saw him hit the brakes in my mirrors & just knew he was about to do a U. Quickly caught & passed 7 or 8 back markers in cars (including some chump in a Porsche driving like a total fanny  ) & buggered off  . Never saw him actually trying to catch up, so technically I didn't do a runner. :shhh:

Got up at silly o'clock to leave resort at 6am (having put luggage on the bike). Only we had low flying cloud  Twas something of a challenge to ride through cloud all the way to the valley, distinct lack of good viz!!

But once down it was a rather lovely ride to Chambery. Used the Route Nationale this time not the motorway and it was better than expected :D :D

The hotel has the smallest shower/loo room that I've seen in ages, makes the one in my place look HOOOOOOGE!!! :D :D

Decided to drop the spare wheel under the back of the F350, clean it & the brackets etc up. Got it all dismounted & outside. Got the tire & wheel looking all spiffy then started on the bracket that holds it in place.
Lots of soap, scrubbing & rinsing etc

Then wondered why the rinse water was looking very red... as was my left hand... :hmmm:

Rinsed hand, 1/2in long slice right in the middle of my thumbprint. Bugger. Bandaid at the ready for when I remove thumb from the paper towel that is absorbing the claret..

Finally replaced the central heating pressure vessel that has been leaking for the last 8 or 9 months with a new one. This entailed completely draining down the heating system, so I took the opportunity to replace the shonky old drain valves with some spiffy new Tesla ones that use o-rings to seal the water in rather than glorified tap washers.

I'm actually quite surprised that Man-child Musk hasn't mobilised armies of lawyers against the plucky little Brit firm on the basis of trade mark theft or some such bollocks.

Waved off first lot of visitors, did my best hotelier impression and washed, dried, and changed bedding and towels, ready for the arrival of the next lot (this time FIL and Aunt-IL), who duly arrived.

Assembled the second (and final) set of drawers for the second spare bedroom.

Got chuffed because my lovely aunt-in-law had stayed in that room before its renovation, and was suitably impressed with the transformation. 🥰

Chips. Bed.

Oh, I was WFH too, so that.

When I found a place ot stay near the course, I had the bright idea of walking there and back each day.

In an ideal world it would be fab. But the only 'decent' shoes I have are heavy walking boots and we are required to wear trousers - I only have jeans. And today after the course I had to go to the supermarket and get some food for this evening. Only it's the opposite direction.

After almost an hour of walking, I arrived back at the hotel thinking was going to melt and/or die!!!  It's Fing bastard hot in the afternoons - I was fooled cos the lovely instructor has the aircon on in the room we use!!

Soooo - tomorrow I'm riding the bike in. Sod getting fit, I need to get back here in a condition that makes study/revision possible - and I'll have to go to the supermarket each afternoon too!

oh, and I'm learning (and probably forgetting) a lot of new words, outside the transport course

One of the guys decided I needed to be set up with another guy. All in good humour to start with. The comments coincided with a conversation about female English tourists/seasonaires and how they get pissed and pick a Frenchie to shag. (He isn't wrong, the young seasonaires do do that. I've never been a young seasonaire!)

So, was a funny conversation to start with, but one guy dragged it out all lunchtime, break, at the end of the day and even mentioned it in the class!!!! Even told me that it'll be fine if I just close my eyes

Guessing I'll be avoiding them all tomorrow (well, one in particular!) until they change the topic of conversation

Not yet - might learn that tonight!! What seriously pissed me off was that he's being a bit mean to the guy. It's tiresome to me, but what he said about the guy wasn't so nice.

So yes, might have to do some learning tonight (or use the app in the morning if he starts again!!)

I'm trying to avoid violence - mostly cos I think I'd get kicked off the course :o !!

Shame really as before this, the ringleader was the most fanciable on the course - and we have 11.5 weeks to go, and I will probably be getting a lift from him when the weather goes past being bikeable!! The more he behaved like this, the less fanciable he got!! (not that there was any chance, just a bit sad !!)
