Was that just from being dropped?

If so, doesn't suggest it would provide much protection in a high-speed face plant.

Eek!

Far less force than if you'd landed face first.

Potentially sharp plastic into your neck ... *

A quick skim of BS EN 1078 ; "The helmet shall give protection to the forehead, rear, sides, temples and crown of the head"

Nothing obvious in there to deal with 'full face' helmets, if I was a betting man I'd suggest that such 'full face' helmets for push irons are treated much the same as some modular / flip up helmets for motorcycles, in so much as the front is for aesthetics only and does not provide protection, I'd expect the never read instructions to state as much

Round the coast a bit, Balintoy way and White Park bay I think, you can pick up black and white 'pebbles' lying together below the cliffs. The white is chalk but I forget what the black is - I don't think it's jet.
Basalt.

I don't think - but don't quote me on it - 22-06 tests chinbar impacts. SHARP doesn't.

Another €140 cab ride to get back to Memmingen airport to find that flight is delayed going home - no surprise with Ryanair!

Being as I'm living the bachelor life this week, I thought I'd go all out this evening with a pretty wild night of cooking a chicken and pasta dish, combined with some hardcore ironing.

Oh, yeah. 8-)

I try an avoid ECE stuff, but yes 22.06 does have chin bar impact tests, also for flip style helmets position tests, but...
If the helmet fails, the chin bar will be marked as non-protective. Even with this testing in place, a modular will only be legal to ride with as a full-face helmet according to the new regulations.

All of which has nowt to do with a bicycle helmet which is PPE where M-bike helmets aren't.

I think they should all come and try La Plagne/Les Arcs/Tignes/3valleys 😇😇. Can’t promise injury free, but apparently the qu’élues are much shorter! 🤣🤣🤣

I started my driving course today

Holy FUCK! I think my brain exploded eleventy billion times, I nearly had a melt down - and that was just listening to the trainer talk about the course and some of the parts of the course!! (There’s not a lot of driving on the Titre Professional course - but I will get the bus licence as well as all the other bits of paper/card!!)

But, there’s 17 of us in the group and once there’s a discussion I’m totally lost as they all talk across each other. And some people talk to each other whilst the trainer is talking, which is not only bloody rude to the trainer, but also means I then can’t keep track of what she’s saying

Stupidly I walked to the boulangerie for lunch with some others when I should have found a quiet corner to chill and give my poor little brain a rest! By the time we had the afternoon break and I did try to do that, a couple of people had noticed me getting a bit lost and came to talk to me 🙄🙄. Really lovely of them but I just needed ten minutes not having to speak or understand French 🤣🤣🤣

We haven’t even started the actual course yet, today and probably tomorrow are info days 😳

I’ll get a lunch baguette on the way to the school tomorrow and find a quiet corner to chill for an hour!!

But I do so hope my brian man’s the fuck up and starts dealing with this better very soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’m trying to persuade a mate to come out drinking with me tomorrow when I get back - then I have Thursday to recover before coming back here for Friday 🤣🤣🤣

Oh, and it’s seriously Bastard HOT in Chambèry, it’s currently 30 degrees but was definitely hotter today - I keep being reminded why I live up at 2000m 🤣🤣🤣

Saw a rainbow down the coast on a dry, 30 degree evening as we were sitting down for dinner. Lovely thing to see.

I often use the Google 'Recorder' app on my phone (a Pixel, so it's native, but presumably available regardless) to record training, interviews, etc - it auto transcribes alongside the recording, which isn't perfect (and may be even more confusing in French?!), but worth a go?
I tend to use it so that when I zone out, I make a note of the timestamp, and go back and read/listen to it... (The re-listening helps to work out some of the random written translation too!)
