Booked a table in a decent local restaurant for tomorrow night. Thought I would have no chance of getting one but had no problems.

Is it out yet or did you do the decent thing and bury it in situ??

As it rained buckets yesterday, the effort was put off. Today a substantial backhoe was sent my way and got it free with little effort.

irie wrote: Tue Dec 01, 2020 8:44 pm As said before, what's needed is a winch (hooked up to the chassis and the tree in front. Not complicated).
Yes, that would have worked and there is a tree conveniently located that would have served as an anchor. However the backhoe delivered.

I am thinking it might not be a bad idea to see if I can attach a receiver hitch to the front of the truck and buy a hitch mounted winch. The truck, once I get the fucking brakes sorted will end up in West Virginia on a remotely located property. Getting stuck is bound to happen up there. The rear has a pintle hitch bolted up to the tool body. I need to get rid of it and fit a receiver so I can slap in a ball hitch or the winch. That way I've got relief no matter which way I fuck up.

Today I got the bucket truck unstuck.
I set up a retirement account for my receptionist. She's been working for me for 27 years and will have been with me for 31 by the time I shut it down. Will keep adding to it on an annual basis.
Came home and washed the bucket truck. It had between two and three years of grime, twigs, leaves, and whatnot from sitting unused in DC. And it had a bunch of muck on the undercarriage from the weekend adventure.

I went to WORK yesterday !!! Only the 2nd time in the last 9 months.

Was at a datacenter with just me and one of the lads, so pretty secluded. But i was doing a fair bit of lifting, panting and effort installing a new HPe Synergy frame along with 6 Synergy Blades etc.

Today and yesterday I have mostly run the gauntlet and been piggy in the middle between banks, solicitors and GPs. No one talks to each other and even when they do,they don't really listen, more concerned about obstructive protocol and protecting their respective power bases. All while relieving you of copious amounts of money,of course. That's one thing they agree on.

Sometimes I'd like to run away and hide. :(

Had the speed limiter on the van removed. I can now do 70mph where allowed, instead of 68mph. Every little helps.

Main dealer job, £84, kerching.

Sorting through boxes of old paperwork and stuff today,Mrs.Skub came across a drawing by my daughter when she was about 5. The usual kids thing of drawing figures of family members and listing their interests....as a 5 year old sees it.

Eldest brother = reading and being grumpy

Middle brother = skateboarding

Mum = cooking

Dad = motorbikes, guitars and nice ladies.

Me explaining,"yes dear, obviously she must have meant my often vocal appreciation of your charms",didn't appear to cut it...

Bloody weans. :(

I went out & about in my spiffy new jacket. It appears to work, arms fit in the sleeves, hands poke out the ends, things fit in pockets etc.

Plus it was actually jacket weather today, 60deg! Brrr... :(

Involved in my first wedding as a "Minister of Religion!" Was rather lovely as the not so young couple were deeply in love and fully aware of what they were getting into. I just had to get the livestream working and then pan the camera accordingly. Was a lovely day and even though it was my "day off", it was a great joy to be there and to take part in their celebration and commitment. I watched my incumbent leading the service with grace and fantastic humour. Lots of laughter!

Watching the Rugby and finally dug out a scanner for some old photos.

My Ducati TL600 with my dad's R65LS, I think this was just before packing the bikes for a TT or Manx trip.

I just had a sudden recollection of meeting you somewhere on the Mirthcycle when I had my 400cc Honda CB1. It was when I rode back to Uni from Portsmouth one time, it was freezing so probably after Christmas 2003.

No idea why you did the journey with me, but you did. I distinctly remember you started a thread on VD that evening asking "should a 33bhp bike be able to do 100mph" :D

BTW my bike was - hand on heart - 33bhp restricted the whole time I had it. :D

I remember that trip, i was living in Nottingham at the time and i think I may have been visiting my folks in Henley, hence doing the same journey.
I remember losing you because you slowed right down to 50 as soon as you saw the Leicester sign. I thought you'd broken down!

Wasn't it the first time you'd done that trip? I seem to remember you asking on VD about advice for first long trip or something?
