Removed a large flashing/gutter from a building, attached a load of unistrut to a girder so the ceiling fixers have something to fix to then attacked a few cupboards that go through some stud walls and so far no shiny suited car salesmen have complained about dust on their laptops yet so thats a win.

Oil and filters time. This was what I had for my Africa Twin but it’s the same kit for the xadv, well the oil should be 10/30w but I’m a carefree rebel who likes to ride on the last chance highway…

No, not yet. He's in the middle of house move but has contacted me to pologise and say he still wants it and will get to me asap. I cant see him leaving the house move all to his wife whilst he goes and gets his new bike and pop out for a ride on it? But I guess he wouldn't text me twice if he'd blown out? Dunno what to think TBH.

Crawled under the car, removed the undertray, pulled out the oil filter drain plug and dropped a mugs worth of oil. Put the undertray back on, replacing the missing bolt (which you think Volvo would have done when they serviced it in April.

Been for a test drive and the 'oil over filled' (which it's been showing on and off for the last two weeks, but mostly on this week) message is gone.

Can't decide if it was doing it because the outside temps are a bit warmer so the oil has expanded a bit, or if it's diesel from a failed re-gen.

Heavy damage up to 16 weeks.
Bollocks.
Got MRI booked in 2 weeks

Got Portimao end October. Hmmm.

If the oil smels of diesel and/or is pretty runny, you may want to consider an oil change to stop your big ends going tits up soonish?

Known issue with Ovlov diesels, when the DPF trys to regen it dumps extra fuel in the cylinders and can wash by the rings to the sump. Service bulletin telling dealers not to fill to max when servicing....

Yeah, I've read about it.

The dealers don't seem too worried about the diesel diluting the oil.

Apparently when they change the oil whatever they put in that's where the computer sets the max level. If I had the right software I could have just set the current level to max

That can kill the engine on those. You'd have been better taking it back to the dealers to be safe.

It was the RetroAutoMoto rally thing today - bloody love the sounds! Took LOADS of pics (mostly bad!!) so will sort and put them up. My mates came up with their Capris and we chatted loads in French a bit of English then one of them translated to Spanish for his girlfriend (she's from Peru)! My English mate understands some Spanish but it was a challenge for her in general sadly.

So we went to my favourite cafe where a couple of the staff speak Spanish (can't remember where they are from, but it's South American Spanish!!). Just a quick chat as it was busy but I have instructions to get her number for my mates girlfriend so they can communicate more!! LOL

Was looking forward to this evening as the info for the rally said there was a swing band tonight. It's not swing as I know it, so I'm home with headphones in attempting to watch Torchwood (but, yet again, the VPN is sodding shit!! When I am earning again I'm getting a different one!!).

Roll on tomorrow to see the cars and bikes again :D :D
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Mrs Dodgy and myself were at a loose end today, so thought we'd go to a riot, plenty to choose from and not too far away. So off to our local city we went. Someone had kindly kicked a wall down and had created the perfect missile stash to throw at whoever we fancied.

Full size bricks were a bit heavy, so I went for the half brick x 3. I recognised 2 or 3 heads who I weren't too fond of and with my cap and covid mask in place, I gave it my best. Miraculously, I hit my targets.

I later heard on the drive home listening to BBC radio, that Kier Starmer, Rishi Sunak and Ed Davey were all in need of medical attention, following a missile attact, thrown from an angry minority in one of our city centres on Saturday afternoon.

A good day was had. 👍

Spare room no.2 ceiling sanded. Spiders evacuated. First coat painted on the ceiling.

Looking forward to it looking like a finished room soon (albeit without skirting boards for the time being, but you've always got to leave something, right?)
