Following your PM I looked for my exam papers for the Dayskipper exam, it would have been a few years out of date but it would have given you an idea.
Can't find them though

Although I'm sure you'll be fine, it's not that bad.

Very little. I was sulking most of the day cos we've had thunderstorms and torrential rain - and I bottled riding my mates bike down to the valley to see his band play. Thought he'd rather I didn't go to watch than risk chucking his bike down the mountain!


Anyway - the positive bit today was that I finished a cross stitch project. I bought the kit 25+ years ago I think (could be close to 30!!!) and only started in when I was int he rehab place two years ago.

Because it's sepia its a challenge to do in the winter or under normal light, but I've got a decent sewing light now and so this spring, with the lack of good weather, I've spent a lot of time finishing it.

Half want to keep it, but no where to hand a picture like this and I did do it with the plan of giving it to a couple of friends who have been brilliant when I was in hospital/rehab Sooo - tomorrow, wash it, dry it and stretch it, then save up to sort out a frame

I enjoyed all my courses, it’s sailing without the maintenance of having your own boat.

I also loved having my own boat but it’s a lot of responsibility and it takes over your life to the exclusion of everything else. You know what they say, if it flies, floats, etc then rent it

The wife and I are at the opening day of the new local bike shop.

Above the bikes sales floor is a mez with all the kit on, it's quite narrow. She's looking at these three packs of neck tubes on a low shelf, taking up all the space. A chap waits patiently for her to move out of the way so he can get past. He looks at me and says 'Hi', I replay in a croaky broken voice 'hi ya', cos it's James Toseland... his bird was quite fit.

On investigation I discovered the loft water tank that feeds the CH cylinder was empty, the float valve had failed. A trip to screwfix and £7.99 later it's all fixed.

I should be a plumber, I could have made a few hundred quid on that job, what with it being a sunday, etc..

That was lucky, mine failed open.

Mine has an overflow that exits directly above the kitchen window.

I know this from the time I connected two pipes incorrectly, turned on the supply and it started raining outside (I back filled the tank).

Finally, effing finally, the sun is out so we're on the beach. I went to a BBQ yesterday and I had to wear a coat. A coat in SW France in late june ffs. But apparently the sun goes again on Friday so we've just booked a week in Spain.

When I was a student I rented a top floor flat (£3.50/week ). The plumbing was a bit eccentric and the box shaped hot water tank was over the bath and had an immersion heater and a ballcock in. The ballcock corroded and ceased to float. The overflow was into the bog cistern so the bog would flush hot water. The landlord's solution was to wire corks onto the ballcock. This worked fine for about 2 days then the corks got soaked....

Oh, and today I collected something I bought at an art show a couple of weeks ago and got tempted by something else...sadly they don't reduce the prices on the last day. I bought it anyway. Got to sell a kidney to pay for framing now.

Haven't actually done it yet but shortly will take the little Japanese hybrid shopping trolley for the second annual service. Just looked at the booking confirmation the the missus forwarded to me. Standard manufacturer service £459!!

Yumpin yiminy!...that's more than my (older, bigger, German, 4×4 car costs for a minor/routine service every other year (no brake fluid change etc etc). I'll be interested to read the invoice/worksheet.
