Snake in the kitchen!! I've tapped a duster on a pole to the top of a mixing bowl, managed to get the bowl on top of the snake and put a rock on top. Pic too follow when I've ejected it from the house.

Cleaned the 'self-cleaning' oven. Horrible job.

The offending snake has been ejected from the premesis, only one pic and it's of the mixing bowl. I think it was a juvenille Ladder Snake, non venemous. It had gone behind the fridge so I turned the fridge round to see it vanishing up inside the working parts at the back. Gave the whole thing a good hit of fly spray and it came out.

Decided to start the gelcoat repairs. Followed the instructions perfectly, an hour later & it still hasn't kicked off.
Bugger.
However, this is the Mojave Desert, so I'll leave it alone for a day.
I done some gelcoat repairs a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't gone hard. I'm going to have to try and remove it all and start again. My issue, I think, is the MEKp is crap. It really needs a few drops of cobalt octoate (it comes as a blue liquid) in it to act as an accelerant. I've got some epoxy gelcoat that I am going to try next.
Theoritically, the polyester gelcoat will go hard without a catalyst - eventually.

We clearly have very different estimates of how strong snakes are....

What is the temperament of a ladder snake?
They are aggressive and defensive in their nature. Defensive signals include hissing and lunging forward with the mouth open. Any attempt to pick up this snake may be greeted by sharp bites and also the emptying of the cloacal glands, releasing an offensive odor.

Can’t visit Japan without a bowl of ramen. (The 8 is the name of the restaurant)
Actually eating and drinking iced coffee is about all we’ve done today. 30 degrees is too warm for me.
Off to Takayama tomorrow, 2 days there.

Drove home after a 'relaxing' weekend in a nice hotel, not far from the sea. Lots of boats moored, saling club, Musto T shirts etc.
I'm knackered! Nice room, excellent bed etc etc but it appears that restaurants think everyone wants to eat their main meal of the day after 7pm.
It seems I can't digest 3 courses (or 2 apparently) and sleep at the same time any more.

I think I've got old.

Finally moved out of the dark ages and used ApplePay on my phone
I said to the girl in the shop that I'd never used it before as I was a bit of a dinosaur - she laughed and said it's simple, as the machine beeped, followed by "see?"
So, used it a second time later just to be sure!! LOL
Still not keen but as my purse is usually in a small backpack when I'm on the bike, so maybe I do need to upgrade my brain a smidge!!

Went into a shop changing room, one with multiple mirrors. Jeez, I thought I was in reasonable shape for my age.

Finally got a bit of time to finish the shed today and filled it with crap that I'll never remember, let alone find, when I need it, so I'll go and buy a duplicate or three. Mysteriously, any unfilled hidey holes nooks and crannies will with accessories for bikes I don't yet own.

Doing some more sorting over at my parents' place & found on old photo and separately the shirt that I was wearing in it, which was, well something.
It was my André Malherbe phase...

Fitted a load of woodwool boards to the back wall in the back bedroom, in preparation for lime plaster 'skimming'.
Took the dog out in glorious sunshine and five minutes later had to hide under a tree for fifteen minutes while it absolutely HOOFED it down.
Eventually got Muz to come on the quad and bring me a waterproof, at which point it immediately stopped raining and became sunny again
Here's the dog wondering why I am not bounding joyfully through the rain, the big furry hypocrite:

Health scare.
Just sat drinking coffee, playing with the pup, stuff ...
... smart watched showed my heart rate at 138
Sitting still, slow breathing, only brought it down to about 120ish, varying.
Got out my CFR 'observations' pouch.
Pulse 67
O2 97
BP 119/57
A few deep slow breaths
Pulse 57
O2 100
That'll do
Phew

The beauty of a smart watch. I was getting very stressed over something the other day, watch vibrates to tell me pulse rate was about 122, normally about 70.
Walk away from computer, sit in the sun, have a cuppa, back to around 78, learn that work stress is not something to get wound up about!!
How are you Horse by the way, everything good I hope?

Yes, ta. Watch seems to have calmed down now
It was odd - finger pulseoximeter showing one figure, watch 》phone app showing almost double!
I'm enjoying my retirement even more now I know my heart isn't about to explode

Doctor was open today, so I headed over at 9am, only to realise that it was open 12-14h instead
Got there a smidge late (just after 12h - no appointments, have to turn up and wait). Can tell that they've not been open for a while, lots of people ahead of me and all seemed to need really long appointments!!
I headed in for my ten mins - hurty thumb for no reason, pain meds for headaches and a prescription for physio (probably the reason for the headaches, the lack of!!)
Anyway, came out with no more knowledge of why my thumb has swollen and hurts (no falls!!) and a support for it (will obviously take it off to ride!!

)
The prescription, and
DRUGS!!!!
(I actually wanted Migraleve but they don't have it here

so I have the codeine paracetamol mix - a tonne more codeine than the migraleve but none of the random ingredient that I think sorts the nausea!!)
Ok, it cost LOADS (I'd guess the thumb support was the bulk of the cost!!!). But within a week, I'll get it back so, not too bad!!
