Having raced both, I'd rate the LC much higher.

It'd not be about racing for me though, just nostalgia! 8-)

I beat a few LC's on my 250 Racing Death...

Mainly because the LC's had to be stock with the original cigar pipes. My RD was Fahron tuned :)

I had 2 RD400s, they were a bit shit in comparison to an LC, but they're a much older design. It's like LCs are a bit shit compared to a Power Valve, which is a bit shit compared to a TZR.

The Guzzi should be gone on Wednesday, I'll have £5-6k to spunk on something different.

I'd quite like a GSXR1100, but this 750 came up and it looks proper mint!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294142424115 ... Swdq5ghT-M

Should I hold our for an 1100?

I suspect the 750 will handle better and ride much more like a modern motorcycle than the same year's 1100?

That does look good / like a good 'un.

As I think I said I'd prefer the 750 to the 1100 but I do see the appeal of the 11.

That's the same year / colours as my 1100 was. I think they look great.

That bike does look like a very nice example. Hard to fault from the pictures (although they're rarely as good as the pictures look!). Being picky there are some minor marks on the rear brake pedal, the screen is non original and the bolt holding the can in place is a nasty one. I'd rather have original paint over a respray, even if it's not perfect. That paint does look good though.

The MoTs suggest it sat for over ten years which is a slight worry but not a big deal. I hope the tyres aren't that old.

I reckon it's worth having a look at, at the least.

edit - from memory the rear seat cowling was a nice thing to have as the genuine ones were expensive (well £150 in 1990) new.

My thoughts were he's spent money on paint and making it run, which is good.

But there's no mention of suspension, which will be obviously fucked by now.

Which would be a bargaining point if I were to make an offer.

That's an 'L' with the better (than the earlier models) long stroke motor and superior handling and ground clearance.

The earlier models look similar, but have RWU forks... but you can slot a 1200 Blandit motor straight in... and if you fit the original 750 head to the 1200 motor it's an instant 130bhp with a fuck ton of torque. If I could find an J/K for the right money it would make a nice project.

There's one a bit cheaper @ £4k and imho better colours at Craig's Honda, but it's in nowhere as nice condition, I'd probably have to spend £1500 to get it up to the same standard.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254949233632

Prices seem all over the place, I'm not that bothered about the price, I have an amount of money I want to spend on a bike, if I buy one for less than the money I have put aside, it'll just get spent on bolt on tat anyway.

This is one of the earlier ones that will take the Blandit engine with the GSXR's head, but it's too nice to do an engine swap on.

Those 750Ls are nice, but they're both expensive.
And yes the 750 is a lot better bike than the 1100, they don't ride like modern sports bikes though, the handling is good once you've worked out how to ride them.

So why not get a modern sports bike ?
Genuine question.

The only reason I can think of is nostalgia, personally I wouldn't buy anything older than an SRAD if I actually wanted a bike to go fast on, and then it'd have to be cheap (£1500ish), I'd prefer a YZF750 to an SRAD, but YZFs are stupid money.

I think older bikes are cool.

I want something that not everyone has.

If I buy right it's only ever going to go up in value, unlike a brand new sports bike.

Buy an FZR1000 EXUP, the prices are still good, and they're a better bike
