Compare with the best, not the worst..

National "no vote" would be a wakeup i reckon. As been said, we just bounce from one colour to another and slowly the decline continues.

Is it though ? Really ? You have and can buy anything and everything you want (within reason), you can walk down the street, go for a beer, go fly an aeroplane, ride a motorbike, drive a car, go to Australia, or Europe.... You eat what you want, as often as you like, you can do anything and everything on the planet without major issues... but somehow it's shite lol.
You can i can't, i can;t afford to do hardly any of that. I wont be having a holiday next year! I've been in full time employment since i was 17!

My whole month is budgeting on what i can eat, i have to eat boring unhealthy crap a lot of the time as i don't have the money to have options, many are in worse situations then me though of course.

You might need to take a step back and stop thinking about things from your own perspective and start thinking how other people might have to live.

The thing i hate the most is that the disparity between rich and poor is now so vast and is only increasing, made worse by rich powerful people coming on the TV telling us that we don't have any money (due to some made up excuse) and we need to spend spend spend to boost the econemy when they themselves are the ones hording all the money, it's a fucking joke and we are all being taking for fools!
Work a 2nd job. Do higher level qualifications and get a higher paid job. 2 massively simple things as a start point. But you (like me/most) won't do that. Potter is an advocate of both and i struggle to argue with him in a way, but even if you went out delivering pizza Fri/Sat/Sun it'd give you £150 a week more, £600 a month, think what you could do with an extra £600 a month...
Here lies the rub.

Why should i have to go out and work 2 jobs and have literally no life just to be able to live? I'd rather be dead!

We are the 6th richest country in the world, i earn a decent wage yet i cannot sustain a worth while lifestyle as a single man with a 3 bed house in the ghetto. I don't think it's right that the 'everyday' man has to work himself to the bone just to get by whilst many others hoard away all the money and always pass all their costs/fuckups onto the working class man.

I have £220k equity yet am poor. This is the trap they lead you into. They make you think that working hard and investing your money into assets is the best way when it is not. They just want you to work pay taxes then take all the assets into their control when you die, that's their plan, take take take take take!

You don't HAVE to.... but you don't have the knowledge to get a better job, so it's either a better job, or another job... take your pick. I'm not sure how it's anyones fault that your job doesn't pay enough. Get in a lodger, get them to pay 50% of your mortgage instead of you, think how much better of you'd be if splitting the bills. You have a 3 bed house for 1 person, use the space to make you money instead.

Take the £220k equity out and rent somewhere instead, use the £220k to spend and enjoy life. You don't have kids, so lets assume at some stage you own your house, well, why... who are you leaving it to ?

In full-time employment, owner of a property larger than you need. Enough disposable income to have evenings out if your posts are anything to go by.

I reckon you're doing ok. What makes you think you're any worse off than any of the rest of us?

IIRC you work IT in the schools sector. Lots of better paid jobs about, IT is a growth area in education. If you are serious about improving your lot polish up your CV and apply for a job with a big and growing MAT, preferably somewhere cheaper to live than Bristol. Job jobbed, more pay, cheaper house. You will need to stop blaming stuff on other people and look for solutions rather than telling people about problems.

I agree i could downsize but i would need to go into a flat and the mortgage costs would double for me to do this at the moment, i would literally need to use a lot of my equity up, and then once again all the money i would have made is being given back to the rich fuckers running the mortgage companies. It would also be a bit of a hit for my pride.

I use all of my 3 bedrooms, i have a studio in one and the other 2 are my bedroom and a small box room full up with Vinyl and CD's. It's a fairly small 3 bed. If i moved to flat i would not be able to produce as much and would probably become depressed and ill.

But there are many many people a lot worse off than me, this isn't all about me, Weeksy likes to make it personal when this is not the stance i am taking when talking about politrics.

You'd think but there isn't, even the private sector only pays about what i am on for 3'rd line support.

I could go into a managerial role but again this is still around what i am getting paid currently. I don't want to move out of Bristol as this is where my social life is.

There are loads of people in this country that are not as lucky as me and will not even have these kind of last resort choices as me, what can they do under the current leadership we have?

What about the downstairs rooms? how many living rooms do you have? I rented the front room out to a friend in my end terrace house and she was very happy with it. The rent a room scheme is really worth taking advantage of. You would need to vet any future lodger and be sure you could get on with them, but that's always the case.

Maybe I'm mixing you up with someone else, but didn't you buy that house fairly recently (as in the last few years)? Were you not asking for advice on here or the old place about whether to get on property ladder, while telling us how flush you were at the time? Is that where your income is going, into a mortgage for a house (that's far bigger than you need)? But it's the fault of the rich that you can't have a holiday this year :wtf:
Those ghetto houses must be in high demand to have built up 220k equity in a few years

I used to work 13 days out of every 14, you're living to work, not working to live. It gets old very quickly and the amount you lose on tax is the real sting of it.

Even if I wanted to, I couldn't legally have a second job now if I wanted to keep my main job.

If you want more money you HAVE to go into management. If you want lots more money you have to climb the ladder to senior management.

Sorry, but that is true, and will remain true. Choose not to be a manager, stay poor.

Not me no, i moved in about 5 years ago, i did have some savings back then but i had to use them to get the house.

The area is only 1.5 miles from the centre and is up and coming, i have made 100k in 5 years not 220k. It was a good buy and was a proper state when i moved in, you could push the back doors open around the frame with a medium kick if you wanted!

If only it were that simple i would be on 300k now. We are also not all rocket scientists, i have had a poor upbringing and am a bit of a nutter, it's just who i have had to be to get through life. I don't have any GCSE's!

I am also a bit of a glutton for punishment as my pride will not let me move into a market such as banking or any other non-ethical business. But that's enough about me now.

Corbyn has just mailed me asking me to help with his latest political campaign...;)
