Excellent point. It may have a low seat on it? The seat is two separate seats, so should be fairly simple to get it customised into a higher one using the original seat pan and I expect they are cheap and plentiful 2nd hand?
I know there's no pillion seat but the rider's seat looks much more normal on the pic that Yoz posted. Dunno. It might just be picture angles etc.
On Sunday I should get some time and will take the seat off and look at part numbers and if it can simply be shimmed up without looking odd.
As previously mentioned, I also have a pair of Buell foot pegs which people have used on various bikes to lower the pegs and create more room between seat and peg.

It seems its a common complaint and lots of lowering footpegs are readily available on ebay etc, should my Buell ones not work for any reason. ALso there is lots of adjustment on the gear and brake lever to get them to match the lowered pegs. All very encouraging really!

My GS came with SW Motech lowering footpegs which also go forward a bit. The GS crowd loves that kind of thing, supposedly it gives you better control standing up.
However the 650GS only lets you move the gear lever down by one or two splines before it hits the frame and it's not enough, while the brake pedal height isn't adjustable at all. Even if the heights were adjustable, your foot is left too close to the lever end, which sucks.
Looking at the cb1000r, the whole footpeg assembly is quite racey, with a fair bit of "up and back" going on. Wonder if there's anything else with a more relaxed geometry that would fit, and relocate the whole peg and lever assembly together as a set?

Maybe, but mostly folk prefer to spend £££ on lowering pegs, CNC longer pedals, bla bla, rather than a bit of time invested figuring out what might fit off another bike.

The bike is based on a Blade, but there may well be some common shared parts. I actually have a set of Buell pegs which lower the pegs quite a bit and of course I don't have to pay out for anything to do this.

Adding to the seat height is how I fixed it on my FZR400, first track day on it I couldn't change gear after 20 minutes on it, 20mm of foam race seat stuck to the standard seat fixed the problem, remember to raise the handle bars by a similar amount

I don't think I'll need the seat to be altered, although i'll still try the honeycombe thing as i'm intrigued having seen a few bikes with those on. I got used to the riding position on the way in and realised the gear lever is just set too high for me. I'll still fit the lowering pegs though, as I'd just rather my feet were lower. On that note, I did miss the Ducati riding position this morning, but no surprise there as I favour that style of bike for that reason really.
I certainly didn't miss the jerky fuelling though! The Honda is so tractable and smooth. Well, the fuelling is smooth but it does have vibes at certain revs, but no numb fingers, so all good there. It's just a very easy bike to ride, smooth throttle, buttery smooth gearbox, nice light (hydraulic) clutch and as I mentioned it steers beautifully. I guess that's why people say they're boring as they just do everything well. For me boring is good!

I learnt to ride on Hondas! (well, the first six months over winter on a ZZR600, but the next 8 years on Blackbirds!!).
I bloody love the fact that they just do everything well.
Equally that was the downside for me as I really felt I needed to go and ride stuff that needed a bit more thought! I did de-link the BB brakes which made me feel a bit more that I was choosing what happened!!
But I'd still have another BB - if I could ever reach the bars. I did look at a mates CB1300 cos it was a better riding position for me at the time. But, cos I live here and any commute out of resort involves 21 hairpins each way (plus roundabouts!), I still want a toy, rather than something that 'just does everything easily'!!
But - really glad you are enjoying it, sound like it will do you well for the commute
