My mate Trev built a MK3 with a quadcam grandad cossy motor, used the grandad axles, hubs, brakes, etc.

The Dorset Police chased him in a helicopter. He learnt his lesson and replaced it with an E36 M3 Evo.

Most of a focus is a mazda.
Or most of the Mazda is a Ford ? :hmmm:
The latter. Designed by Ford mostly in Europe, Essex and Cologne.

The Focus and Mondeo were both big efforts by Ford to make really good modern cars and I'd say the succeeded on both fronts.
Ford gradually divested from Mazda. The partnership pretty much ended in 2015...but my local Mazda dealer is collocated with a Ford dealer and the Mazda courtesy cars seem to be Fords :hmmm:

Our shopping trolley Mazda is a Toyota in a Mazda frock.

It's the difference in meaning due to the omission of 2 characters.

wife cousin - your wife is also your cousin

vs.

wife's cousin - the cousin of your wife

If you have to explain it.... :(

I had a 98 Focus, wasn't overly impressed by it. Wasn't half the car a 306 was.

Mk2 Mondeo was one of the best cars I ever owned, I had a Mk3 with the bloody awful Mazda MX-5 engine in it, and it was a gutless rev happy tub.

I had a load of "Classic" Blue Oval stuff over the years.

Capri 1.6LS, converted to 2.0.
Capri 2.0GL
Capri 2.8i
Capri 2.8i Special
Mk2 Granada 2.8 Ghia
Mk2 Granada 2.8i Ghia X
Mk3 Granada 2.4i Ghia
Mk3 Granada 2,8i Ghia (ex RUC, went like a rocket)
Mk3 Granada Scorpio Cosworth.
Mk2 Escort, started out as a 1.1, ended up fully caged with a 2.1 Pinto running 45 DCOEs I think it has a V8 in it now!
Mk3 XR3 carb.
Mk3 1.6 Ghia
Mk4 Escort van with RST running gear. That rusted out so the running gear ended up in an Orion 1600E
Orion 1.6i Ghia.
Mk2 XR2
Mk2 Fiesta Festival with a tuned 1.6 CVH in it, still had the 1,1 4 speed in it.
XR4x4
Sierra 2.0GLSi

I had loads of other Fords, but that's the interesting stuff.

Oh I had one of those in a pale blue colour. Mine was only the 1500 but I think there was a V4 2 litre as well.

Even back then they weren’t very common.

One of those cars that I remember fondly.

You only have to say "Ford Corsair" three times and my Dad will appear to tell you about the time he helped my Grandad (his FiL, not his Dad) rebuild the engine in a V4 Corsair.

I'm on my fourth Focus. I love em  It's my commuter car (not that I do much of that these days), and can do no wrong.

Our 'main' car has cycled through Land Rover, Audi, etc, and I never really love any of them in the same way.

(One exception being when I slipped and fell and bought an Audi TT - that was my all time favourite car, but turned out to be massively impractical when we got a big dog :( )

I'd have thought a TT was massively impractical even with a small dog :D

Mine was a a grey v4, with paper maché inserts for the curved nose!
Things were different 'back then!'

Approach angle isn't best suited for off road driving. Bloody Chelsea tractor.
