And I've just spotted that the FZ above has 1987 onwards side panels painted to look like 1985 panels, which is also a bit shit

It's called "Chanel #5" by After Hours Bikes, I've looked for a video of someone riding it, but no joy. If you search youtube for After Hours Bikes, you'll find some videos of people riding similar looking machines. They're sat so low they can hardly see over the fuel tank.

It appeared in a FaceBook group I'm a member of (Bike Meets/Events UK). Gixxer thou engine transplant seems a bit of overkill to smooth out the low speed throttle snatchiness...
