Anyone have experience of the Whyte t-130?
Re: Anyone have experience of the Whyte t-130?
I hardly use my T130 anymore but love it for a day peddling In the Peak or Lake district, I am considering selling to buy a long travel eeb, that I could use at push up venues like Stile Cop, Chicksands, Windhill but would also work for an xc ride round the Peaks. Don't think I could bear to get rid of my Dh bike, but doubt I'd get much for either of my current bikes even though they cost me £13k between them.
Re: Anyone have experience of the Whyte t-130?
I'm hoping my mtb life isn't over as I had a stroke on Monday night. MRI showed a moderate stroke caused by a complete blockage of one of the vessels that carry blood to the brain. Good news is there's another 3 so hopefully no biggie. Currently on 4 different drugs, hopefully dropping down to just 1 (rest of my life) I the next 21 days. I've bounced back quickly maybe due to luck maybe due to high fitness levels, but either way the docs seemed surprised at the size of the clot (walnut size) relative to recovery time.
More tests/scans incoming and Currently not allowed to drive for 1 month, then will be reassessed and hopefully as long as no further TIA will be good to go. I want to carry on with life as always (living in fear is not really living to me), but I do need to ask regarding Dh mtb (need to cancel Dyfi next week ) if once this initial high risk period is over I'll be at no higher risk if I take a big hit (which happens as my ambition sometimes exceeds my ability) than I would without this shit in my head, in which case I'll carry on regardless, fingers crossed I don't need to sell mtb and take up knitting!

That's crap. Hope the healing goes well and you can stay on two knobbly wheels.

Thanks all, currently feeling good and as long as I make it through the next few weeks without another Tia, there's even chance I will bounce back completely.

I know it's a bit 'I know somebody that....' but I know a couple of people that have had TIAs and they got through the month and have, pretty much, got back to exactly normal and doing all the things they did before. Coincidentally they were into their exercise regimes (not biking though) and pretty fit, so fingers crossed for you. Get through the month and you'll be chucking yourself down muddy hills again in short order.
