I'm staying in The White Hart. Seems ok so far, the room has a bed in it.

I've just tried something called "ramen noodles"
Underwhelming is an overstatement!! I do have another pack, so will have to work out a way to give them some oomf so they might actually be enjoyable!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got home this afternoon and, for one of the first times for ages, it was sunny, not raining & there wasn't sooo much wind, so, despite being utterly knackered I went on literally my first bicycle ride just for pleasure this year!

Not nearly as hot, not even close - but it's my favourite sauce & I got my godfather, who's out in Spain at the moment, to grab me a couple of bottles.

Washed the wheels on the SBH, have to take another look at the brakes. Something ain't right. But that will be in a few days, tomorrow I'm driving the F350 over to the guy who did the ZRX11 & ZX11 seats for me. Original 28 year old foam in the drivers seat base has seen better days.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Started a new job today. Everyone is really pleased I've joined them and welcomed me to the team etc. I'm still in my little studio with the same kit and doing the same work, just for a different directorate. I think i've just been rebranded! The only possible fly in the ointment is, i'll have a new line manager soon and I normally hate their fresh ideas and approaches...

Re: What have you done today thread?
cooked myself a very late breakfast - partly cos its my favourite breakfast but also cos my mates kitchen is a bit special. Old fashioned in some ways, but lovely - nice range cooker, but also, electric flat griddle, deep fat fryer, rice cooker AND all the gadgets a person could need - mincer with sausage attachments, slicer, 2 x mixers, professional grade knife sharpener, blender. Just spotted a sandwich toaster too!! LOL
Basically everything is professional standard (some of it quite old, but still awesome!)
So I did sausages and lardons on the griddle - I just didn't know what temperature it should be set at and created a bit of smoke Forgot there is an extractor fan in the hood over the cooker Oops!
So I've been sat with the kitchen window open and the extractor going for a while!! Worse - I forgot to close the kitchen door, so I'm sure the whole house will smell too (Although I doubt it's the first time!)
One thing I'm always wary of - his pans are cast iron and now non stick. I'm terrified I'll bugger one up by cooking something and making it stick So the fried egg was watched like a hawk to make sure that I didn't do anything wrong!! LOL
I did cook enough sausages (bought some dated chipolatas yesterday and twisted them into short sausages) to put into a toad in the hole in a bit. Just go to do the maths as I don't want to do a full sized jobbie (8 eggs ) as I'm on my own here!! And the gravy recipe (James Martin) has madeira, sherry, veal jus & red wine - in this kitchen I might just find all the ingredients
TBH - this kitchen is my dream kitchen in lots of ways. Huge kitchen table and all the cooking stuff you could need. Fan-bloody-tastic

Re: What have you done today thread?
What a day so far.
I was heading out for my walk this morning and I usually glance at the little weather station which gives me the humidity levels in the garage. It was reading 92% When I opened the garage door I knew why. One of those shitty braided hoses taking the mains to the sink had burst and the place was flooded, probably going all night.
Everything is drenched, the bikes, inside toolboxes, you name it,it's soaked. I really hate those braided hoses, but plumbers use them everywhere now and they're all a clock ticking to spoil your day at any given moment.
I've spent the morning dragging everything out of the garage and seeing what I can salvage,at least it's a good day,if it had been the last couple of days,it all would be out in the rain. Small mercies.
Next up was trying to talk to someone concerning the car tax and MOT. The current MOT expires in a couple of weeks and the earliest date I can get is July. Meanwhile the car tax expires in June and I can't retax unless I have a valid MOT.
Maybe the day will improve....

Re: What have you done today thread?
Rolled into bed at 4am after an impromptu night out with my new work (haven't started yet!)
Rolled out of bed later this morning, still very definitely drunk.
Muz has therefore had to drive me to the station so that I could get on a train down to London, where I'm going out with my old (technically still current) team.
Now continuing the process of sobering up, while the person sitting in my reserved seat manspreads into me. Would serve him right if I threw up on him.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had a v nice day which has involved...
- touching a Spitfire and seeing others being maintained but none flying
- watching a variety of stuff wazzing round a track from quite close up. This included Rolls Royces*, Ferraris, M3s, Lotuses, (Loti? ), Alpines, an Arial Atom that blew up in a very dramatic and smoky fashion and....a couple of rather nippy Toyota Yarises! Quite taken with the Alpines.
- seeing a Moofo and a Rockburner in what seems like their natural habitat.
* rather like breeze blocks fired from a big catapult and mainly tyre noise and air being rudely displaced. Funny seeing people in full face helmets in them too.

Guessing that'd be Goodwood?
I'm assuming they were GR Yarises...nearly 300bhp and AWD in something that small will certainly shift!
