What a horrible thing to say. Especially as you say your parents/heritage was non-English. You'd still be a potato picker in Derry if your parents/whoever were not allowed in.
I agree, it is a horrible thing to say. That is because it is a horrible thing that's happening.

Which part of that excerpt is not true?

Indigenous; the people that live in a country, form a society from their shared values. That includes immigrants and their descendants of course. That's you and me. You don't think our laws and customs should be created and upheld for the benefit of those who live here?

Rampant invasion. Inflammatory yes. Untrue, no. It is rampant i.e. unrestrained. Is it an invasion? I.e. an inundation, influx, all the way up to intrusion and trespass; I could make a case for every possible meaning for that word to apply to this unmanaged flood of illegal economic migrants.

If they were asylum seekers or refugees then they are welcome to apply for citizenship to share this part of the world we made for ourselves. Half of my birth family had to flee from Nazi Germany. They did not sneak in on a flotilla of boats, a situation you admit you knew nothing about.

Do they share our values? No. They bring their own and "in todays news" an elected politician stood up in parliament arguing that incestuous marriage should be allowed.

Are they insisting "we adopt theirs"? See above.

So yeah. It is horrible but it is an uncomfortable truth. Other opinions are available.

Whilst I would be lying to say that I sadly agree with much of what you say, it's with the caveat that our country owes a lot to those that were not born here and their descendents from sometimes many generations past. My ancestors includes jewish, central European and celtic. Like many:most people, we are 'mongrels'.
In many cases of the 'new immigrants', they're coming here because they see our country as a bit of a soft touch. If this wasn't the case, why not stay in the first European country they arrive at, rather than risk life and limb to get here. Post WW2 the whole region was in a state of flux. People made a new life all over. We certainly didn't have the situation that we face now and yet I'd argue that the need was greater.
To be clear; I'm not entirely against all immigrants. Just the illegal ones who intend on taking rather than giving to our country and culture.
Apologies if this offends anyone. It's my opinion, not fact or absolute.

Reeves can't keep blaming the previous Govt for the UKs problems when all she's actually done so far is make things worse! I hope her and Starmers long term plans come to fruition, he said knowingly...
I think you;ll find she can. Labour have only just stopped blaming Maggie for all the world's ills. There's lots of life left in the current blame game.
The stupidity on display within the Labour party is astonishing. Angela Rayner says there is a housing shortage and they need to build 1.5 million new homes (for which the Labour party will make compulsory purchases, land grab and gnaw away at our green belt). Trevor Philips asks if it's fair that three quarters of those new houses will go to illegal immigrants (Labours own figures are planning for 2.5 million extra immigrants during their term!).

Rayner then goes on to say in the same breath, that there is "plenty of housing". You couldn't make this shit up.

Sorry for the dodgy channel but it's one of the few places this car crash interview is available to link. Labour are busy trying to stamp out this sort of "misinformation" (lit. malinformation) for "your benefit"....

That's a solid sort of.

It's easy to say "they call come here!" when you err...live here. You of course don't see all the immigrants/refugees/other who go to other countries.

They also go to Germany, France and Italy. AKA the countries in Europe with the largest existing immigrant populations and, TBF, the largest economies.

I agree with everything you say.

Where I struggle with illegal immigration is, particularly now, you'll have charities like SHELTER and CRISIS desperately seeking help for the homeless, of which some will die of cold on our streets, yet the govts help people who come here from abroad, in most cases for little more than financial gain. Its a sad state of affairs when we'd be best to ship our homeless people to France and tell them to make their way back here as they'll then get housed, fed and paid and be better off and safer than they currently are! :wtf:

Govts own figures are over 75% of illegal immigrants landing here are young men. Presumably they left the women and children fighting the war they were fleeing, whilst they valiantly went ahead to find somewhere safer. :wtf: Gobsmacked that people are still believing that!

Two things. 1) I suspect if you polled the population* and asked 'Is uncontrolled, illegal (is there such a thing as controlled, illegal?) migration a good thing?' No hands would go up. 2) If you asked the same set of people 'Well, what would YOU do in a similar situation to this selection of illegal migrants?' some might well say, 'Err, probably the same thing', whether that be aim for France, Germany, Lebanon etc or the UK.

PS I was having a conversation earlier about governments love of 3 word 'buzz phrases'. eg A PM at a lectern with 'Stop The Boats' on. What? Who? Me? I thought that was what you were elected to do. Reminded me of a poster in a car park from the local rozzers 'Crime: Together We'll Crack It'....when did I get paid to not be in the CID/uniform?

The whole immigration situation is a shitshow, and a great deal of uncomfortable truth has been written above, BUT.......

Let's not forget that LEGAL immigration with visas adds up to a lot more than any estimates of illegal immigration. And in many cases it is the legal migrants who are clinging to their way of life and want us to change to their ways, or at least accept that they can follow their customs rather than our laws.

How do you solve the problems? Don't know, but radically cutting student visas, and policing the terms of those granted, would be a good start. I am particularly thinking of those coming to study at less-than-prestigious 'academic' institutions. Another would be moving to a draconian stance on spousal and family visas. We cannot continue to allow a constant influx of brides, and dependent relatives. Sorting out the grey/black economy would help. Time for an ID card, and all employment/benefit/health depending on having one. No ifs, no buts, no card and you get zero, and that includes charities.

Ah, but we need immigrant workers you cry. Well we have IIRC several million people on benefits. Time to tighten the screw on that, at the moment (as Screwd will testify) it is a game, if you understand the rules and know the system you will likely thrive, if you have no clue how it all works you will likely get shafted. I personally know rather too many people who suffer from anxiety and cannot get out of bed to go to work, they can however get to the pub later in the day.

Will it solve everything, I doubt it, but it would be a start.

Yes they very much are. You honestly really make me want to puke. I'm disgusted I used to talk to you like a proper human. You're a bigoted racist.

I have no doubt you'll spew 49999 words telling me how wrong I am, but frankly I'm bored of it.

I judge people on being people, who they are, how they act, how they treat me. You've already decided these people are bad because of some other reason before even meeting them. You're happy to decide their fate without giving them a chance.

I completely accept that a percentage of people coming into this country are bad, spongers, horrible people, violent people etc. but they're not that because they're immigrants, they're just bad people. We've got shit loads of them here too, our prisons have been at capacity before immigrants came in and would still be even if they stopped allowing people in tomorrow.

But, plenty of them are kind, considerate people just crying g out to make their life and your life better

No. I am not a racist, no matter how often you scream it at me, it is simply not true.

It is however, the typical response from people who cannot think for themselves about a very difficult situation and have to resort to idiotic insult instead of adult conversation. You can't show me where I am wrong because I am not wrong. As uncomfortable as that makes you feel, that is the fact of the matter.

We are not powerless but we need to be able to have sensible dialogue. There is much we can do and the very first thing would be to stop support for bombing the shit out of every country that the US military industrial complex wants to feed from next. You think it's a coincidence that the Assad regime in Syria just "fell". So shortly before they lose grip on power to a new President who is on record saying he would just let them fight against each other...

That leaves Syria in a crazy position of former Assad forces using US/CIA supplied weapons, fighting against the new ISIS/Al Qaeda/Al Nusra <name your poison> with funding directly from the US/Biden regime. They didn't put up much of a fight. Assad fucked off to Russia and the Israelis see the opportunity for a land grab and bomb the shit out of whatever was left of government forces.

Are we now glad to see ISIS back in power? The current US admin is and they are sending financial aid to make sure it sticks. If you want to see something that really will make you puke, have a look at what these monsters are doing to the Christian population right now in the name of their religion.

Assad was a horrific dictator. ISIS is worse. Our Judeo Christian society is nothing like theirs. Nothing like it AT ALL. You have no fucking idea how barbaric and cruel such a place can be. I lived and worked in Syria and while I was there, I observed their customs because if you offended the wrong person, they would kill you and it would not be a crime.

...and you have the gall to tell me I am racist because I am worried about those exact same people sneaking into the UK on boats. By the millions.

Grow up.

No. I am not. I am talking about religious zealots and fanatics. Extremists if you will.

The blanket statement "all <X> are bad" would be racist if it was aimed at a specific racial group or if I was stupid enough to say "all". Muslim is not a race, neither is Islam. It is a cult. But I am not hiding behind semantics here, I do NOT mean "all of them" as you suggest but the subset who demonstrably are extremist. If all of the millions of illegal immigrants were so minded, the UK would descend into civil war instantly.

Think of all the horrific attacks being made on the western world. School kids, concert goers, hijackings, you know, terrorism. Now tell me, is there a common denominator? Is there some thread which links all of those barbaric, some would say satanic evil deeds? Why yes. Yes there is...

Image

By it's own very definition, it does not integrate into any other religion or secular society. It does not tolerate any other religion (just wait to see what happens at Christmas - I predict a riot) and the Quran tells devout followers exactly how they should behave which is nothing at all like the customs and laws the UK once led the world in promoting.

So no I am not saying they are all "screaming Muslims wearing bomb vests running straight for destruction and mass killing" but - you tell me.

Who is doing all the screaming and wearing bomb vests, running straight for destruction and mass killing? Who does that?

I'd be heading straight for Poland. Maybe Hungary at a pinch. Russia might be nice if/when Putin falls out of a window.

Depends how radical Starmer gets tbh and how much further the UK bends it's knee to that alien religious death cult that must not be named.

The UK has a terminal illness, 'a growing population'. Our country simply cannot cope and never will.
It doesn't even matter anymore who these people are, what colour, what language they speak, what sex they are, what they believe in, there are simply too many of us on this little island. It's staring us in the face, everyday.

Some might say, you end up with the country you deserve and for many, this is very true.
