The Government has responded to the petition you signed – “Call a General Election”.

Government responded:

This Government was elected on a mandate of change at the July 2024 general election. Our full focus is on fixing the foundations, rebuilding Britain, and restoring public confidence in government.

The Prime Minister can call a general election at a time of their choosing by requesting a dissolution of Parliament from the Sovereign within the five-year life of a Parliament. The Government was elected by the British people on a mandate of change at the July 2024 general election.

This Government is fixing the foundations and delivering change with investment and reform to deliver growth, with more jobs, more money in people’s pockets, to rebuild Britain and get the NHS back on its feet. This will be built on the strong foundations of a stable economy, national security and secure borders as we put politics back in the service of working people.

On entering office, a £22 billion black hole was identified in the nation’s finances. We inherited unprecedented challenges, with crumbling public services and crippled public finances, but will deliver a decade of national renewal through our five missions: economic growth, fixing the NHS, safer streets, making Britain a clean energy super-power and opportunity for all. This is what was promised and is what we are delivering.

The Government’s first Budget freed up tens of billions of pounds to invest in Britain’s future while locking in stability, preventing devastating austerity in our public services and protecting working people’s payslips.

Mission-led government rejects the sticking-plaster solutions of the past and unites public and private sectors, national, devolved and local government, business and unions, and the whole of civil society in a shared purpose. The Government will continue to deliver the manifesto of change that it was elected on.

No, the suggestion was that most people signing were disaffected Labour voters.

Suggesting that all those Conservative, Reform and LibDem voters must be content with Labour being in power.

That’s even funnier, 11 million Tory/Deform and nearly 7 million labour voters :)

Perhaps because recent supporting neuro research suggests that actual differences exist?

Our results suggest that some neuroanatomical, neurophysiological, and neurometabolic features in transgender individuals resemble those of their experienced gender despite the majority resembling those from their natal sex.

These findings add support to the notion that the underlying brain anatomy in transgender people is shifted away from their biological sex towards their gender identity.

Male-to-female subjects tended to have thinner cortical regions in the right hemisphere, which is characteristic of a female brain.

Yup, you're probably right.

Given the amount of grief they have to put up with when - if the research is correct - it's due to the way their brain is formed, so totally out of their control, it is a pretty shit experience for them.

Given that children's brains are very 'plastic' structures, that can and do adapt to physical stuff, it is not beyond the realms of reality to suspect that children who are encouraged to be 'trans' actually change their brain to suit their adopted persona.

But a man is still a man. Calling him a trans woman doesn't stop him being a man. If he gets his bits chopped off he becomes a eunuch and is still a man, not a woman. A gelding is still a male horse, not a mare.

You could be onto something, potentially leading to dramatic changes of approaches to mental health and non-typical neurology by only modelling appropriate behaviours.

For example:
https://www.psypost.org/brain-imaging-s ... in-autism/

Brain imaging study links reduced synaptic density to social challenges in autism

Are you suggesting that it is not beyond the realms of reality to suspect that autism, and many other conditions [there's probably a more appropriate technical word] is because of children adapting how you suggest?

If you're on to something with this, then it can't be happening in school - otherwise the entire class would be altered too.

And what about anyone who wanted to change gender before this nonsense was taught in schools and on TV (sic)? What was the mechanism there?

Would you accept evidence of external and physical characteristics such as genitalia?

Would you accept DNA results?

So, presumably, you will also accept physical evidence from brain scans?

You asked 'why'? You might not like the answer, that's your problem.

If a bloke has your (spurious-looking) brain conditions that compel him to mince around in a wig and women’s knickers, that’s a shame, but he’s still a bloke.

He’s well advised to stay clear of “gender affirming” surgery and endocrine treatments, or he’ll end up a very unhealthy man in women’s underwear.

Actual real women are not at all wrong to reject him from female facilities, societies and sports.

I have zero solid evidence, only anecdotes.

My generation had plastic brains too, and during childhood we were influenced by parents, siblings, peers, school, books and to a very limited extent TV and films. Books, TV and films were almost 100% based on 'normal'.

Today all those influences exist, but now we have the Internet and a massive increase in TV and fillm. Much of that, and today many books, are NOT based on 'normal', many extol the delights of stuff very far from 'normal'.

IMHO we need some urgent research into why so many kids exhibit stuff like ADD, ADHD, body dysphoria, gender disphoria, anxiety and all the other psychobabble. Is it influences like this, or some reaction to modern chemicals, or what?

I asked why we should believe this nonsense. Do you believe this nonsense? Do you believe that a man is a woman if he says he is?

I'm not a bald man in a wig, I'm a man with a full head of hair? Do you believe me?

If you believe one and not the other, why?

Just as well there seems to be actual research, that Google kindly found for me in moments.

Yet there were still plenty of people who didn't fit that 'normal'. Why? Is it possible that there were similar percentages after neuro diverse people then? And also before TV and films were invented.

Those all existed. The only differences are that we now have labels and diagnoses.

Autism? Only known about for 50 years.
Asperger's? From the 1990s.
You can Google the rest.

But that's the modern names. There were different names.

Autism? Previously 'eccentric'
SEN? That would have been the 'slow' or 'thick' kids, in Billy Bunter days, the boys in the Remove. Or the 'village idiot'.

As for you being aware of others' non-normal sexuality, homosexuality was illegal until 1967 in England and Wales and until 1980 in Scotland.

Rather than me Google stuff, have a search and you'll find more about links between autism and body dysphoria., then autism and gender. But I realise you probably won't bother because ...
