Today was washer, under sink cabinet, work tops and hob and sink.

Fuck all that chippy with a special jig bollocks, they look fine just butted up to each other with a bit of clear silicone.
You've reminded me why I paid a man to do ours, makes me have happy thoughts :D

I know what you mean, at points I've wanted to burn my house down, with the wife in it.

But at the end of every day of working on it I just stand and take it all in for 5mins, thinking 'I did that'.

I only work weekends :)

I'm up to five days actual work with maybe a days work left... Not including the painting and tiles (I'm paying man to do the tiles).

To be fair, installation and worktops were both teams of two.

Had a long walk along the beach with our dogs, then said goodbye to our fellow campers and drove home. It was a weekend of four seasons for sure. We actually got sleet on saturday morning! It was also very windy, with a bit of rain and the sun had no power! Good first trip away in the campervan though.

One of the things that makes me proud of my elder spawn is that they are the fourth, possibly fifth generation, of my family to have built their own house. Maybe not all of it but they did a large part of the design, quite a lot of the interior decorating and most of the project management.

Quicker than me too, they are three years in, it took me over ten years to do mine.

I like a bit of a loiter. However, today I have finished the guttering project. Until I get a couple of water butts, then I'll have to lay a couple of slabs (which I've carried down the garden today - spares from the last paving project  ). Then I'll have to measure up, remove and cut the downpipes to fit the diverters.

Having served my guttering apprenticeship and having a bag full of spare bits :D I plan to replace a connector joint on the house guttering - it drips - and put a couple of extra guttering clips either side of it....which the professionals failed to do.

Found yet another large Stanley tape measure, the spirit level that I couldn't find last week so I bought another, another box of screwdrivers and several rolls of ordinary masking tape and a roll of Green Frog tape....oh and some wood chisels.

Worked 5.30am till 12.30. Don't think I made any major cock ups due to tiredness    Now off until a week Thursday - only 4 days of that are actually holiday, but my boss has made a snippy comment about me having ten days holiday

Came home to the list I made last night and this morning. Only one thing on it to do and I can do that from the uk!! ** -

Organised with a colleague that he'll take me to the station in the morning (and he's said that he'll be at home in Lyon the day I come back, so he's going to pick me up at the airport from the return flight :D - that cuts out a ton of hours on trains or waiting for trains :banana-dance: :banana-dance: Luckily, trainline has refunded the trains I'd booked :D :D )

I've washed up (doesn't sound a big thing but I'd run out of cutlery and used almost all the plates!!).

Tidied up a bit more and sorted the rubbish (yet to take it out, but needs must later as don't want to come back to it!! )

Cleaned out and cleaned the fridge!

Finished a dress I should have made months ago. Made it without a pattern and only a rough idea of the 'plan'. Can't bring myself to try it on yet  I'll try it on when I get to some friends tomorrow/Weds cos at least I'll have some people to help me sort it out (or take me shopping to get something wearable!! )

Packed for my trip - remembered at the last minute to put the posh shoes in the case for the wedding!

Sure I'm forgetting something, but hey ho!!

** two things - gotta make a ton of sarnies for tomorrow! I leave home at 05:45 to get the train to Lyon and land at Heathrow at 14:25 local :(
But, cos I'm scared about missing the bus, I'm not getting the bus from Heathrow till 17:20 :( But, that'll give me loads of time to get from T5 to T2/T3 - hopefully!! Get to near Bath for 19:25 (I'll see if I can change the bus once I get to London!! )

After work today I plumbed my sink/tap in.

The waste pipe is a proper bodge with lashings of silicon (until I can work out what proper bits I need to make the Ikea pipe fit the the existing waste pipe)... but it all works and we can now do the washing up, until I fit the dishwasher.

1.5" to 1.25" adapter?

Went out on the tredder with the dog in tow.
Took a wrong turn and ended up on a slightly longer, and hilly-er route, about an extra 4 miles.
Even the dog was giving me the 'will this ever end' look!

In the kit was a crinkle hose, with a smooth bit to push into the u-bend, the rest of it is all crinkle.

There's an adaptor for Eire, with I've siliconed on to the end of the crinkle pipe, but the adaptor is slightly smaller than the existing waste pipe... so it's been silconed in too :)

My DesmoDue racebike was more wood than metal.
