But then of course you can't get all the cars to steer. I've thought of that too. Put metal guide rails on the ground which the wheels run on.

Bound to solve all traffic problems and always run on time.
If they could manage to do something like that and actually run on time AND be affordable it'd be freaking awesome :D :D

I wanted to try and get a train from the uk back here, 200€+ absolute minimum. A flight can be had for around 50€ - even adding in a train to get from the airport it's less than 100€

How can it be so much cheaper to fly? I'd much rather go by train, but I can't afford to!! (Even if it's not totally on time I'd rather go by train!! LOL)

Cornish chap called Trevithick invented something like that, powered by steam.

With a 'V' shaped towbar (point of the V to the towing vehicle) the towed vehicle will follow along quite nicely. The tow bars will be considerably cheaper than your rails and will be able to use the existing road network.

With radar-controlled cruise control and lane-keep systems, no tow bar needed.

For the second wednesday in a row I'm wayyyyyyy over most limits on rum! Had actually had lunch, but it was only a vegetarian pasty - turns out that is not enough to soak upr four decent measures of rum and lemonade!! Having managed to get myself home to eat something I'm feeling a bit less 'spinny'!

Downside is that the guy that's been flirting with me (for thirteen winters!!) really does only want to flirt. Well that just sux!!   Well :( :( :( -   (I got drunk enough to suggest a very non serious evening - the response wasn't positive!!   )

Tomorrow I need to do a lot of food prep - been shopping today in the valley for the first time in almost 6 weeks, so now I have lots of stuff to prep and turn into meals I can freeze so that I eat a bit better than I have been!! LOL

But first, tomorrow is a lie in morning

Two meetings in one of my schools, with Ofsted inspectors. :o

The good news is this school is now officially overall Good, with several areas marked as Outstanding! Not too bad for a train crash that we took over 4 years ago.

Woo and hoo!

I have some idea of what you've been through and how today is likely to have been.

So well done to you and the team

It is the Head and teachers who deserve the thanks for the hard work. My contribution has been no more than the occasional touch on the tiller.

I used to love it. 3,4 or 5 nights a week was better than being stuck in front of the to. Sadly my skeleton fell apart in a couple of places and that stopped play. Still got other issues but might as well get fit or die trying!

I find it boring boring booooooooooooring ... I've listened to so many podcasts.

However, it's been important for Filly pre- and post-op for a total knee replacement. And, to be fair, my dodgy knee gives me much less grief now (although three days stood up at the Excel bike show didn't help).

Plus, for the first time in my life, I have muscles! :banana-dance:

Me too. I haven't done gym stuff for years (apart from a bit with physio). I really NEED to go to the local gym here because I'm not doing anywhere near the amount of skiing or touring that I expected. But it's a bit of a challenge to make myself even go join the gym!!

Not sure I'd want to listen to podcasts but I might have to do something!!

I'm only intending to do cycling, cross trainer and possibly try a rowing machine (really need to build some arm and shoulder muscles)

Really must sort that next week!! Probably!! (Means I need to buy trainers!!  )

Hadsomehting called the Born to be Show here today. Well, this evening. It's way shorter than it used to be but apparently for a few years they haven't had the 'jump' thingy (I think someone broke their leg a few years in a bad landing) but that was here this time.

I've not seen it for a few years as I've always been working, but it was definitely worth heading out - I wasn't particularly keen TBH, but I did enjoy it :D :D

Random skiing (2, 3 and 4 peeps on a set of skis; 6 people on a monoski; the pisteurs demonstrating their skills with stretcher/toboggan things etc etc) - but also the jump to show off the skills of some of the instructors but also the kids from the Club de Sport :D

Never seen the skiers leave colour on the snow though, that was pretty!!

Didn't take any other photos as it was just cool to be watching all the folks doing their stuff!!

Back in ireland, late coming home from the hospital, I popped in my favourite pub for a pint. Diddly diddly music every Thursday!! Who knew? My cousin did, I messaged and said are you coming, she said she'd skip this week but will be there next week.

I think today I have finally realised my purpose in life!
My whole raison d'etre is to come up with workable, aethestically pleasing solutions to my wife's crazy ideas.
Just waiting for some acrylic filler to go off now!
