Enjoy! Avoid *any* spoilers if you can.
Finished! Very much enjoyed it, one of the best new things I've seen for a while.

Now on to White Lotus season 3 😎

Anyway, it was absolutely cracking entertainment, great script with loads of laughs , and some quite touching bits in it too- far better than the trailer makes it look IMO

Highly recommended for miserable old feckers who still enjoy a good laugh (and don't like to admit they are a bit soppy really :1 )
Went yesterday.

Me & 4 other blokes amongst a mainly female audience.

Enjoyable (apart from Jones' almost permanent facial expression). Some references to the first movie of the series.

Started watching Killers of the Flower Moon last night. Done about an hour and a half. Bracing myself for the remaining two hours.

Asking myself, does a film need to be three and a half hours long?

2 hours is my limit.

I struggle with really long films. Not many I've seen that wouldn't be better for cutting an hour out of. I'm the same with mini series. They seem to pad them out to make the episode count.

The Gorge.

I took one for the team, so that you don't have to watch it.

Reasonable premise, but quickly descends into silliness beyond words, a plot line full of holes and contradiction and bare-faced rip offs of other films, such as Hellraiser, Alien and even Lord of the Rings.

I'm not normally a fan of mini series, but am enjoying the CH5 one called Flowers in the Attic.

Initial D.

It's a Japanese street racing drama series from about 20 years ago. Very simple animation. Very Japanese. I'm enjoying it.

Are you buying an AE86 to deliver tofu in?

I am pretty sure you could get one for two grand back in the day. Now more like ten times that.

My daughter asked for a film suggestion from me yesterday, I came up with this. She loved it, which pleased me no end.

Just watched Adolescence. Wowsers. We both loved it and became transfixed.

Each episode was filmed in one go and the acting and continuity was out of this world.
The storyline became secondary.
For a young kid to do a 50 minute monologue with only a supposed psychiatrist was fantastic.

10/10. Most of that score was for the guy who operated the drone for an hour each episode

Great film and better than the Hollywood offering, in the same way A man called Ove was better Than a man called Otto.

Which raises the question of which Hollywood remakes of European films (and elsewhere) are better than the originals? The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo certainly wasn't.

The Hollywood remake of Taxi is an abomination.

I can't think of a single Hollywood re-make of a European film that was an improvement!

Let the Right One in / Let Me In was close?

I hadn't heard of that but I'll look it up when I finish Initial D. If it's good until the end. I think I'm on about episode 16 of series 1 and I think there are several series.

Most of the Macross stuff is on Disney Plus, Macross Frontier is the most recent, best animated. Valkyries are way cooler than SilEightys.

Do you want to borrow my DVD boxset of the original series of Neon Genesis Evangelion?

Thank you. And quite possibly, yes, thank you. I have a DVD player. I'll finish Initial D first.
